50-0-0 is an impressive record. But we have seen others get to that point. It's 21 years undefeated that I feel is the real feat. And that will never be matched.

Finito retired undefeated, but his record wasn't unblemished because of that draw. He never got beat by anyone, but he didn't win all of his fights either. And 51-0-1 isn't as pretty as 51-0-0.

Who cares though? What if some cherry picker fought 52 bums and then retired undefeated, does that mean he's any better than Mayweather or Lopez? Absolutely not.

Mayweather could have easily had a decision that didn't go his way either. 50-0 doesn't define Floyd's career, it's just one other thing to add to his list of accomplishments. His consistency and longevity is much more impressive, 49 or 50 or 51 are just arbitrary numbers. If you take away 5 bums from his early fights, his ATG ranking would or at least should be the same.

And I believe Floyd cared more about the McGregor check than beating Marciano's record.

Actually he won that title in the ring by beating his opponent.

You guys have to make up your minds. one day its records don't matter its who you fought and when you fought them. Today, in this thread, its not who you fought and when you fought them, its how much above .500 is your record to determine how good an opponent is.

Can't you guys just stick to one standard instead of gerrymandering it around Floyd?

                A better Career than Floyds.

                And he was 87-0

if he retired like Floyd did 10 times before the age Chavez lost at, he would have the record by a HUGE margin.
Mayweather beat a murderer's row of fighters too including Chicanito, Corrales, Castillo (2x), Gatti, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Cotto, Canelo, Maidana (2x), Pacquiao, etc...

                A better Career than Chavez.

And he finished his career unblemished 50-0-0.

If he fought 5 cans between each competitive fight like Chavez did, his record would be even BIGGER.

It is ridiculous..how can you even compare Lopez to Mayweather to begin with?
