The sport will not truly evolve until you start taking genuine world class 'strikers' as they call it or a boxer and teach them how to sprawl and teach them a sufficient groundgame and so on.
Lets face it you can learn that in no time at all. You ain't teaching a 30yr old wrestler much in the stand up department apart from how to wing an overhand right and leave themselves wide open now just for every punch but every kind of strike imaginable.

They have improved from when it first started for sure but its still at the caveman stage.
That's what I'm asking for. I'd like to see boxing evolve the way we can see some exciting and technical stand up fights without some of the BS boxing currently has in their sport

        Most definitely.

There is definitely some truth to the width of the glove offering more protection on defense, but when it comes to the amount of actual padding in front of the fist there isn't really much there.

If you get punched in the face by someone wearing an 8oz glove and knows what they're doing, you'll quickly realize it hurts like hell.

wouldn't fights be more exciting if there were more knockouts? You wouldn't need 12 rounds...

it seems like boxing is really more about who has better cardio and who can run the farthest?

hiding your head behind big gloves and ducking your head at the same time isn't really defending is it? it seems like a major flaw in the sport...

i just find it hard to appreciate i guess.... I want to like boxing... but it seems like i'm watching some 80's american gladiator tv show.....
Because these guys hit a whole lot harder than your h0mo mmgay **** lovers in panties

I know of him and know he trains at the Mayweather gym, not seen him fight though.

Are they building him up to be a superstar? Or are they just building his profile to feed him to Conor, Khabib or somebody?

im talking mostly defense about the size of the glove. I don't see why hiding behind such big gloves should be applauded. philly shell or whatever the **** that **** is called. You should be able to slip a shot in there

If he wins the title he could be big. He could take mcgregor down and beat him to a pulp if he wanted

I don't think the answer is smaller gloves.
Have you seen Dmitry Kudryashov? Could you imagine a guy like that with smaller gloves? Fighters would be left needing facial reconstruction surgery. I'd rather get hit by a lorry than that guy with a minimal padded glove.

Even a little guy like Rigo has shattered jaws, orbital bones etc

Fights won't go on long at all and it may even actually equate to more running and a lot less action.

Getting hit with 8-10 oz of gloves is brutal enough. Go in the ring...you will understand.
