That should be its own thread.

      Bingo!

Dude is one of several repeat offenders.

Can see an ant fart when it comes to fighters they hate, but set off a thermonuclear bomb in their drawers while they talk about their heroes and they won't hear a damned thing...

you seem to think that if anyone offers any other fighter a fight and they turn it down its a duck regardless of the details of the offer. that makes no sense. for example floyd offered manny the fight for a flat fee of 40 million and he turned it down. thats a soft duck? refusing offers that are terrible and make no sense is not ducking. whoever is making those terrible offers should be put under su****ion for not making realistic offers. if ward wanted to fight why not offer to fight right away since both guys were available and for a reasonable split since ggg was more popular? he didnt do either thing.

So he ducked 38 times. You mean he has that kind of power even when he was still an insignificant nobody, still struggling to make a name. A nobody with a no name promoter who probably would just pit him with another nobody just to make a quick buck.

I mean these clowns always make it sound as if he's black or white. Man he's Asian with a high-school education and as dumb as that prize fighter guy in that Stallone movie where he plays his brother? Paradise Alley... still trying to recall the name.

You keep making a fool of yourselves, fellas.

Actually i have perfectly reasonable logic and thinking when talking about why fights didnt or didnt happen.

when people say floyd ducked fighters they dont normally bring up Jong-Kwon Baek and Takanori Hatakeyama now do they? highly ranked fighters and he never fought um! duck! yet you are doing the same thing with pac while bringing up yober ortega and Salim Medjkoune, and those type of guys.

when talking about floyd they bring up margarito(ranked #1 and a career high payday) cotto(ranked #1 and career high payday) pac(ranked #1 and career high payday) i'm not really seeing those same conditions for the guys pac ducked...lets dive in deeper shall we!

first of all both guys clearly did not have the same leverage in making fights. floyd fought his entire championship career on and backed by hbos money. pac won his first title and had no american tv network backing him. he continued to fight in the philippines for low pay. getting fights is a little different proposition when you dont have money or leverage but you ignore this of course.

at 112 he won the lineal title but had no leverage so expecting him to be able to fight the other contenders is a tough ask. Any big misses? no not really. mark johnson had already left the division.

at 122 he came in as the b-side against a top guy in ledwadba and only then did he get some leverage(hbo still didnt televise all his fights) the only other star/big fight at 122 at that time was against paulie ayala. was that fight possible? ayala was a 118 fighter who moved to 122 and fought the #1 guy bones adams. he then had a rematch with bones adams then moved out of the division for bigger fights against barrera and morales. there simply was no time to fight ayala for pac. the other top ranked fighters were oscar larios and Salim Medjkoune. No big misses there and def no big fights.

At 126 he had 2 fights and this is when he really got the leverage. he fought against the top guys barrera and marquez. he then moved up. was he supposed to fight in jin chi instead of barrera or marquez? unreasonable. Any big misses? nope, not while he was there.

at 130 he fought morales, barrera, and marquez. All big fights against top rated guys. Joan Guzman was ranked #3 and was a fight that should have and could have happened. This still isnt comparable to floyd turning down marg, cotto, and pac but ill explain that at the end. Any big misses? Somewhat big miss of Guzman.

at 135 he only had one fight and fought the #3 ranked guy. not bad right? he didnt stay in the division so not sure how you can say he ducked everyone in the world here. Could he have fought the #1 or 2 guy first? sure. is that reasonable to expect? i think not. lets look at who floyd fought when he moved up....135 his first fight was against unranked augustus. at 140 it was against #6 ranked corley. at 147 it was against unranked mitchell and at 154 it was against #6 ranked hoya. If we are comparing like things pac has the edge in risk taking while moving up yet still hes labeled a duck simply because he didnt stay in the division. Any big misses? no, he didnt stay there. Was he supposed to fight nate campbell instead of hoya? not reasonable.

then he moved up to 147 and thats when the thread starter stopped...So thats one duck against a #3 ranked guy who was very good and a fight that probably should have happened but because of high risk/low reward it didnt. Lets compare that to floyd shall we? We got marg ranked #1 and offered a career high payday. didnt fight him. We got cotto ranked #1 and almost certainly a career high payday. didnt fight him. We got pac ranked # 1 and a career high payday. didnt fight him. You can be mad all you want that people call floyd a ducker but the proof is in the floyd pudding. Manny missed one really good fight(until later in his career when he was shot but floyd missed the same guys) floyd missed 3 top tier guys and we havent even gone into the lesser fighters he might have missed. Do we have to? The most important fights are the ones he missed. Pac did not miss those on purpose like floyd!

That's why fans should focus on what's going on NOW with the current crop of fighters and record everything ACCURATELY, so we don't have to debate it millions of times ten years later. Don't you see my point?

Spence, Thurman, Porter, Garcia, Lara, Charlo brothers, Stevenson, Jacobs, etc. Ten years from now what would fans be discussing about about these guys? Will it be accurate? Or fans would just come up with a thousand different version?

By 2001-2002 he is fighting the best in the world.

Most of these "ducks" come after that.

                      Good try tho...
