My story is straight. You're taking quotes out of context to imply something that isn't there. Did both guys make decisions that caused the fight to be delayed? Sure.GGG could have rolled over like a little b!tch took less money, fought at a less comfortable weight and made the fight happen quicker. But Canelo could have also negotiated in such a way as to not impose all these conditions on GGG so that the fight between the King of 154 and the King of 160 could have been made sooner. And while they both made decisions that played a role in the delay Canelo is the A-side so he deserves more of the blame. Why? Because as the A-side he can fight whomever he wants. He could spend the rest of his career fighting the Liam Smith and JCC Jrs of the world remain loved by his fans and sleep upon piles of money. If GGG never got Canelo in the ring he'd never have the opportunity to really make big money in a really high profile fight. He'd have to take a much harder road by taking on tougher opponents for less money. In all likelyhood he'd never have gotten to the level he could get to with one fight with Canelo and he'd have a much better chance of losing. So my story is consistent. But at the end of the day who gives a *****. Canelo and GGG held their lines, made the fight and got almost everything they wanted. Everyone wins.

Canelo fought a lot of catchweight fights. When boxing historians write their articles, books and make their lists of ATG's that will count against him. The fact that he tried to drain Golovkin down to Canelo weight to fight for the middleweight title, called Golovkin out in the ring but then gave up his title rather than fight him are all blots on his reputation. Personally I feel if Canelo didn't bring so much money to the fight G should just ignore him and unify. That would essentially freeze Canelo out of the Middleweight title picture. If he wanted to fight G after that he would have to submit to Golovkins terms unless he is a mandatory. Canelo soon won't make 154 without draining himself. The handwriting is on the wall and Oscar knew it. That why they are fighting now. Canelo beat Cotto yes but he was clearly on the downside of his career. Other than Cotto the biggest name he fought was Mayweather and he lost badly.

FACT:

he has a better resume than Golovkin already, and he is only 26
