Wonder what would happen if there were no more sanctioning organizations? Maybe have a basic central rating organization, non-profit, with no ties to anyone. All pro fighters would put in a small portion of their purse to fund the non-profit. All fighters would be paid by ticket sales etc.

Doubt it would work though. Too much money for the sanctioning organizations to make as it is now, more belts, and collecting fees for nothing other than giving an easy life to the heads of the organizations. IOW a scam too huge to eliminate. But something like that needs to happen.

            Boxing fans care.
Not the type of people who needlessly make disparaging remarks about hard-working fighters.

I'm not disparaging,,,, but reality is, it's a fake contender vs a fake organization

WBO should have been sued by boxing fans for making Smith vs Thompson a title fight. Prime example of paper belts that lead knuckleheads to call everybody who holds one a "world champion."

Man idk how you'd get people to pay attention to a "legit" title group if the current 4 got sued out of existence by people they've f#cked over. I think you could invent abc groups til infinity. There has gotta be some way one could cut through all the layers of bs & say "this belt" matters & these others don't. But idk what it'd be exactly cuz the Ring & the mythical lineal title have a bigger feeling to those claims, but generally they've never gotten mass appeal even with the f#ckery the abc groups have pulled for decades now.

Interesting topic doe & I'd be curious of other peoples opinions on how you could legit rid boxing of corrupt abc groups & put one entity in power of defining who the champion is & who the top ten fighters are.

He was passed over because of Nelo. They did drop him without notice. Hope he wins just to keep abc orgs in order. He does keep getting multiple title shots doe. I used to like Trout but his age is showing in his legs, severely.

People are wronged all the time in life and don't sue because they can't afford to or because the lawsuit would be more expensive than what they'd recover.

But Trout has a benefactor willing to spend the money to bankrupt the WBO.

Similar to the situation with Hulk Hogan bankrupting Gawker.
