EXCLUSIVE: WINKY WRIGHT PUTS FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR ON BLAST!

"Floyd was the one who first called me out right here on ********** a few months ago and now that we're both looking for someone for our next fight, I'm surprised that him and his people are talking about trying to fight everybody but me. They're talking about Hatton, Cotto, the Mosley-Vargas winner, Margarito, but what happened to Winky Wright? I'm saying if you were really serious about fighting me then why did you forget to mention my name now? Floyd says he's looking for the biggest challenge out there, Floyd says he wants to give the fans the biggest fight out there for November 4 well here I am little homey, step up to the plate and I'll kill myself to make 154 just to show the world who the best is period."
GL: Do you still want 50-50 to make the fight?
WW: "Hell yeah. I ain't taking no shorts. I've been fighting the best out there and I'd be coming down in weight. Plus we the two best fighters out there in the biggest fight out there so there's no way it should be anything but 50-50."
GL: Do you think a fight with you and Floyd is bigger than Floyd versus the winner of Mosley-Vargas II?
WW: "Yep. Yep. I beat both of them and I don't know who Floyd thinks he's fooling, he calls himself the best fighter in the world and says he's the one calling the shots but then he can't take a piss without talking to his team about it. I'm saying, if he's the one calling the shots why is he waiting for the winner of two guys I beat? If you trying to fight the best out there step up to the plate and fight Winky Wright, point blank."
GL: Floyd described you as a one handed fighter and said there's no way a one handed fighter would ever beat him. How do you respond to that?
WW: "Tell I promise I'll break him down with both hands. (laughs) It's like this though G, if he's running from Antonio Margarito what you think he's going to do with Winky Wright? Just what he's been doing, keeping my name out of his mouth and off of his list."
GL: Bob Arum recently offer Floyd Mayweather $8M to fight Antonio Margarito on October 7, do you think Floyd would make more than that guaranteed to fight you?
WW: "I don't know what the numbers would be but after we do big numbers on PPV, 50% of whatever the two best pound for pound fighters in the world should make for fighting each other should be more than that. But if Floyd keeps on running from Margarito, I'll come down to 154 if Bob wants to put that money up for Margarito to fight me."

Good post. It's always nice to hear the fighters point of view and confirms he wanted 50/50.
Imo Winky is a welter weight killer and a cherry picker, who was 5'10 and walked around at 190- then cut to 154. His biggest fights were Mosely, Trinidad and Vargas who were best at Welter. He record against comp his own size is spotty. Benard loss. Taylor draw. And stalled his own career out over money and feeling he didn't get fair decisions. Came back and losses to Paul Williams. If Winky wanted to cherry pick the little guys he should of expected to take less money- this might sound unreasonable to you but it doesn't to me.
I personally also think Winky Would of given Floyd fits and possibly beat him. I also think Benard and Jermain Taylor would definatively beat Floyd worst.
Also, At the time I was huge fan of Floyd and Margarito. I would even have went so far to say Floyd ducked Margarito-- back then. But After learning Margarito used Plaster Wraps i really can't fault him for it now. That's absurd. Of course, floyd didn't know at the time -- but here's the thing about boxing that even after gimmick after gimmick, that most people haven't learned-- if it sounds to good to be true- it is. I also think it's very likely Mosely was roiding vs Margarito. His next flight was against Floyd and his muscle definition and strength were completely different under USDA testing-- one fight and a few months later. But with boxing fans there's not plausible deniability.
But here's the caveat. Can you legitimately question a fighters whole resume on these things??
These are the real questions when you compare somebody that was at the top for 13 years to other fighters who had 5 year reigns.Comment

Even though Mayweather called Winky out, he would later admit that he ducked the fight because Winky wanted a 50/50 split. Mayweather's excuse was that HBO didnt like Winky, that Winky was a one-armed fighter without defense,had no good record, hadnt made any big money, bla bla bla. See same link above.
Bottom line, Floyd ducked Winky just like he did Martinez. Unlike Floyd, Winky wasnt afraid of anybody, he didnt call people out just to run and hide and he didnt try to be a control freakComment

Imo, winky's best fights were Trinidad, Taylor, Hopkins, Quartey,
Vargas was still a bit green and hadn't yet fought any big names but an overrated Rory boy Compas
Mosley was coming off dominating losses twice by Vernon Forest. and even though he was on roids, mosley also looked spotty against Marquez and had controversial wins with Oscar
To call Trinidad a welter at the time he fought Winky is silly because tito already had a bunch of fights with jr middleweights and middleweights including Bernard.
You are also using big double standards when you say "when Winky faught guys his own size". He obviously moved up in weight to fight Hopkins and Taylor and in my opinion was robbed.
How's winky cherrypicking Floyd when Floyd called him out?
Who Besides Oscar did Winky price himself out of?
Margarito was never caught with plaster. He was caught with two knuckle pads over two knuckles so lol..would have broken his knuckles if they'ed actually been plaster. According to Mosley, the knuckle pads were soft and quite common among boxers even though they were technically illegal

They couldn't make a deal $, happens all the time. Floyd fought everyone he needed to fight to be all time Top 3. Deal with it. 50-0 and fought more champs than any fighter.

If you follow the thread, there are other ducks mentioned too but some think Winky is the most doubtful. Don't worry though, there are more to come
Funny thing is if Floyd would have listened to real boxing fans instead of his racist enablers he would have been deemed among the greatest and probably would have won them all
