Not in his prime, no. But at least as good as he was the last we saw him, yes.

Mac is 29, in his prime and a naturally bigger guy and still Mayweather walked through everything the Irishman threw. The only thing that saved him from an early ko is that Floyd's not a power puncher.
Too bad Floyd didn't use that aggressive style in more fights, of course he was fighting a guy making his pro debut. lol

Connar never had a chance better fight than expected though so fair play to both men

The big difference is that almost all boxers have an amateur career, that ones that don't fight lots of pro fights against journey men build themselves up.

Guys that can't take a punch get weeded out before we see them on the big stage.

Even someone who is considered to have a glass jaw such as Amir Khan can definitely take a punch better than 95% of the people walking around the street.

There are lots of really skilled fighters who don't make it because their chin isn't up to snuff.

Add in that these guys in the UFC don't have any idea how to take a punch, as in they do nothing to take the pop off of the shot, and you have a bunch of guys that can take a punch about as well as your average joe. It why you routinely see guys getting put out cold by arm punches and jabs, even at their highest level. Take Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin for example.

In MMA most the fighters are former wrestlers that learned BJJ, and developed very rudimentary stand up skills. For Conor in MMA just having the timing to connect cleanly is enough to get these guys out of there. There no power required.

Floyd said it himself. If Conor had power he wouldn't have walked him down.

But then again anyone who has ever seen the media day workouts of boxers could tell instantly from watching Conor on the bag that he was severely deficient in power.

Damn couldn't have said it better my self ... this is real fight analysis. Not that cheerleading nonsense most posters indulged in.

But you expect a 40 year old with with the longest lay off of his career to not have some type of ring rust or diminished skills it is humanly impossible . And even if he was active Floyd is way out of his prime but people tend to act like he is invincible and is the same fighter he was 10 years ago.
Old means ring age in boxing, not literal age.

ODLH was over the hill when he fought Floyd because of the wars he had been in and how he didn't take care of his health.

What happened to the 175 pound Irish Gorilla lol, looked to me like a frail 40 yr old man walked you down like a 175 pound back peddling chicken, do you people forget what was said by these guys pre fight, only one man told the truth .

Fight a boxer his own size and Connor is unconscious and carried out on a stretcher.

For all the Irish mouth he was nothing.

Can you imagine if he fought Canelo or GGG? No way in hell he see's round 3. If he still there by the end of round 2 he doesn't come out for 3.

Anyone in the Top 10 at 154 or 160 starch him in 3 rounds or less.
