Exactly. He does that when he's embarrassed, when he knows the opponent is getting the best of him, so he tries to play it off. He wasn't expecting Mcgregor to be that skilled, and actually outbox Floyd the first three rounds until he gassed. Mcgregor's cardio, and the corrupt ref, are the only reasons Mayweather won. I've said it all along, Floyd is overrated. His career has been built on matchmaking. It's easy to always control range when you fight guys with shorter reaches. Just control the outside with your reach, then if the opponent does get inside, just hold and the ref will let you do it all night long if you're the house fighter. Control outside with reach, inside with cheating and the corrupt ref.

Of course since this time Mcgregor was the one dominating on the outside, the ref didn't break them to distance this time. This time, he only made them stop clinching, but let Floyd stay on inside range even after the break. Casual fans won't notice these things, but you have to watch the subtle details to see how a ref can manipulate a fight. Mcgregor badly needed some room to breathe and pace himself in the early rounds, if he was going to last all 12, but the ref purposely didn't separate them after clinches, which made it so Mcgregor could never get a breath in and relax. Byrd knows exactly what he's doing. Either he's a racist, or more likely, he was bought off. The same tricks he used in Kovalev-Ward, he used tonight.

When McGregor gassed Floyd started improving, he looked like **** for many more rounds than he should have(that being said McGregor's cardio is ****ing embarrassing). He also got hurt to the body by McGregor when Byrd pulled them apart for no reason. Overall for a man who likes to call himself TBE he looked like anything but. A shallow victory for boxing and deep down everyone here knows this.

Floyd is 40 years old, hadn't fought in two years, and supposedly can't punch. Yet he walked down a prime MMA fighter who is supposed to be the best in his sport with so called insane power.. In no way is this a bad look for boxing no matter how much your delusional mind wants to spin it.
