Mayweather at Middlweight?

I'm a PBF fan but I think 154 should be his limit like he said in interview's before. I think at 154 Oscar is a tough fight but I see PBF winning on point's, at 160 it would be dangerous against any fighter that's A,B level. He's great and a smart fighter but I don't know if a fighter like Taylor who would know he can't possibly be hurt and has a great jab. I don't like that combination so nothing's impossible but it's unlikely IMO at 160.

im a fan too but on the cool buddy, he should even take his ass up there...anything over 147 he will lose....he stays under then he will retire undefeated..

I doubt it. He's only 5'8. He might be quicker but won't have the power at the weight.

Leonard, especially, is a good case. He went from quite low weights all the way to 160 to fight Hagler. Hagler being a great, possibly #1 middleweight of all time. And it was a very competitive fight. (no arguments about who won, thats not the point, i'll just leave it at competitive).

Can mayweather emulate this? At 160, could he possible beat Taylor or Wright, Abraham or Sturm?

Maybe not now, but when he's older. It would be AWESOME to watch.

This is a thread about PBF, not leonard. I was using him as an example of a fighter who moved up in weight and was competitive.

There is NO argument you can make that can convince ANYONE that leonard wasn't competitive at higher weights.

You're ****ing ******. Leonard started out at 147 and fought at middleweight. That's MUCH different then fighting from 130.

Leanard started his career at Light welterweight, 140 lbs and then later on won the welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight titles.

Mayweather might actually win some fights at MW because the division is so weak right now. Against a really strong MW though he would get smoked. Him fighting Marvin Hagler or a prime Hopkins would be brutal to watch. However, I would not be completely stunned if he could beat a Jermaine Taylor simply because I don't think Taylor know how to put enough pressure on to take advantage of his huge size advantage in that matchup.
