I have zero doubt that Canelo beat GGG. This isn't anything against GGG or some of his annoying fanatical fans, I just think his team took this fight too late over money. Canelo has matured physically a lot more and he sees things in a way he doesn't seems to be able to see them before. If GGG beats Canelo then he deserves all the accolades that comes his way.

Anyway Canelo has improved a lot in the last years and GGG is getting old. So it's a near 50/50 fight for me with a slight edge for GGG for the reasons I mentioned.
I'd say Canelo has the better jab since he has actually traded jabs with ATGs like Floyd and Cotto and held his own. GGG has shown his jab against mediocre MWs.

GGG does have size/power/chin, but what if he can't KO Canelo? Then, it will come down to who is the better boxer- which is Canelo.

I'm banking on Canelo's defense/boxing skills trumping over GGG's power.

But yea, should be a good fight.

Canelo has iron fists? Sure against the Khans of the world. His footwork is dire. GGG cuts off the ring well and will shred Canelo against the ropes.

Golovkin is a powerful fighter but his defense is simply not as good as Canelo's, just look at the stats. And taking a punch to land a bigger shot like you claim is never a good idea against an elite fighter like Canelo.

Canelo couldn't KO Lara and Cotto because they fought to survive. Golovkin will take the fight to Canelo, which will leave himself open to get KO'ed by Canelo.

Canelo hasn't the power to stop him, and he hasn't the footwork to nullify Golovkin's shepherding of him.

Prove it to me ! I've followed both their careers, Canelo don't hit as hard Lemieux or Jacobs, the only reason Lemieux went as long as he did was because GGG was wary of return fire, the stoppage was a near certainty due to durability issues and the concussive power of GGG, Jacobs utilised elite level footwork and speed with body movement, Canelo only has the upper body movement his feet are like a 250 lb heavyweight, he's slow and cumbersome, he may be able to back Golovkin up with a straight ride hell Brook did ffs but he won't be able to stop him advancing repeatedly as it isn't the type of power that will trouble Golovkin.

I'll say one thing, Canelo is a lot harder and tougher man than Brook and I won't be shocked to see this go the distance but I expect a tko or stoppage on the stool, I think he'll end the fight on his feet or stool. He's a tough rock of a man, he's just infinitely all round less skilled than Golovkin in the factors that really matter, power, footwork, actual boxing ability too.

Cotto outboxed him in spells and lost because he was the smaller man who could not deter the stronger man, in this fight the roles are reversed Canelo is Cotto and Golovkin is the bigger, stronger, meaner fighter.
