"Running" as in not serving Vietnam? Lateral movement? In boxing you're required to "box" or expected to make points if not relying just on a knockout. Therefore if you can't catch the other boxer with general punches or sequences because he's able to slip your punches and returns fire (counters) .... how is that running? Floyd loves to punch!! Lol. You don't gain compubox stats by defense alone.

Every ATG has used the ring.

Ali was not a great defensive fighter at all and he boxed for 15 rounds.

understandable he would take rounds off.

Ali didn't duck anyone. Fought the best, didn't take little well-timed retirements.

That said, I still think Floyd is great. Just not Ali great, for the OP making the unnecessary comparison.

Floyd is respected where it matters most. By his peers.... The boxing community has the utmost respect for the guy. Those guys don't think he runs...they talk **** to get a fight or to hype a fight but they don't believe half the stuff they say.

He is THE MOST DISCIPLINED boxer in the sport today. Everyone knows that.

He is from a boxing stable within his own family.

Floyd doesn't run, he moves. Big difference.

Ali got a ton of criticism when he first started... Maybe worse...

Tyson eats Cassius alive in 6 rounds.

Cassius/Ali won fixed fights, can the same be said for Tyson?

Insert Tyson instead of Cooper here and Cassius sleeps into the night!

Every time Shavers hit Ali it looked like he was getting stabbed. How the hell does Ali get the win? FIXED, thats how.

Ali is overrated as hell, and would get KOd by AJ or WK, and lose by UD to today's top heavyweights.

This is a good question, Ali gets so much praise for his flashy footwork and showboating but fighters like Floyd, Lara, Rigo all get bashed for the same exact thing. Ive always wanted to know this.

Ali literally at times would just evade most of the round barely throwing anything .
