I don't understand how we get sidetracked in these topics and don't address the title of the topic itself and what it was about to begin with.
He captured the IBF title at 154 2 years ago, made 3 defenses 2 of them were against Trout and Julian Williams (good quality fighters) decided to move up to 160 and got himself a title eliminator, won it, now he's the mandatory. Can someone explain to me how Charlo has to "prove" himself before he gets "deserves" a shot at a title he fought in an eliminator to have to chance to capture?
What???
P.S. All this talk is useless now because GGG has to beat Canelo and Saunders first.Last edited by ggg_kz; 08-16-2017, 12:00 AM.

Jermall doesn't need to prove anything.
I'd love to see him get the next shot.
He's a talented, exciting fighter.
Charlo against GGG or Canelo would be a lot of fun.

Charlo's already proved that he deserves a shot at the GGG/Canelo winner
If /when GGG beats Canelo, Id think he goes after the Saunders after he beats Monroe then probably a soft touch before Charlo is even considered so that's probably the end of 2018 at the earliest.
But right now Charlo's a top 5 MW and deserves a fight with which whoever the top dog is

How are u going to compare Floyd who paid his dues against dangerous opponents like Lara early in his career to a guy like GGG who has one legit valid great fighter on his resume which is Jacobs. He was down on the cards against the second best fighter he faced who was a welterweight b4 a corner stoppage due to broken eye socket.

I'm not even seeing what's controversial about that.

He needs to prove himself for people to be calling for him to fight GGG/Canelo.
If they fight him before he proves himself then that is ok. But its better if he gets in with a top contender first.
