This is starting to remind me of Hagler vs Hearns. Many people were sure that Hearns would have knocked out Hagler, or beaten him comprehensively.

Guess who is Hagler and who is Hearns here...

I believe this 100%, but what Team Golovkin doesn't know is that...

        PLOT TWIST!

Canelo was also taking it easy on GGG, and in fact has been taking it easy his entire career since, including taking it very easy on Floyd, in order to one day lure GGG into the ring. See, Canelo has been in big PPV fights before, but against Floyd and even Cotto, Canelo had to take a smaller cut of the revenue because they were stars before he was. In order to make not just a huge PPV, but one where Canelo would be the A-side, where Canelo would get the lions share of the money, Canelo needed to find a future-star opponent who wouldn't become a star until after Canelo had already become a bigger, more established PPV star himself.

So when Canelo saw GGG training at Big Bear, he said to himself, "that guy has the talent and personality to be a big star one day, so what I need to do is take it easy on him here in sparring, and then take it easy on Floyd in our fight, so that when GGG finally does become a star, I can move up to middleweight and he won't be afraid to fight me, and then I can get a majority of the money."

Remember folks, this is Turista Mundial, not checkers. This is Turista Mundial with a little mix of Loteria and even some Inis to help Canelo access the dormant ancient knowledge of the Irish side of his ancestry in his subconscious. Remember, this game is 80% mental, and only 30% physical. When Canelo frustrates GGG so badly September 16th that GGG starts throwing repeated low blows like Golota until he's disqualified, remember I said that.

"G is a nice guy but he is a killer. Sparring is one thing but in a fight it is different. If you hurt your sparring partner too bad you might lose that sparring partner and he wants to get that work in and work on different stuff. Sparring isn't about how bad you beat your sparring partner. You want to work on different things to get ready for the fight."

Somebody should tell this to that clown McGregor!

I've seen other comments from people in the know, like Breadman here, saying that GGG is never in gym wars because he spars to practice technique and improve, not to beat up his sparring partners. He's a gentleman, which is one reason I like him so much.

Few years ago I was sure GGG would splatter Canelo. Now GGG looks old and shot.

Hagler was the favorite in that fight. Hearns was primarily a career welterweight fighting the middle weight king. Terrible comparison.

Maybe he can throw low blows like Ward and be awarded a KO

i think conor needed that paulie sparring session to boost his fragile ego.... he has never been in with a real pro and he doesnt have the heart or balls to be in with an actual active pro.... so he did what a typical front runner would do..... he called a retired out of shape guy who has no power....
