I still say thats a short sighted look at what would happen. The main thing that would happen is boxing would have a bunch of new eyes on it & a bunch of new fans you'd be willing to pay 9 digits to Conor for future boxing matches. Who's bringing 9 digit paydays to boxing once Floyd re-retired post KOing Conor in 8 or whatever happens? No one anytime soon. Conor is the biggest name in combat sports & he'd be boxing now if he beats Floyd. I think some boxing fans are discounting what that means for boxing.

I actually feel the worst thing that could happen to MMA is Conor wins cuz Conor isn't going back to MMA for pennies on the dollar of what he can make in boxing. The UFC stock takes a hit if Conor wins.

Though i get what you're trying to get acrossed, it's really just not the same. Floyd's rep in boxing is still too big, and 2 years ain't a very long time. He can fight GGG-canelo winner and it'd still be the biggest fight that could be made, he can fight spence and still get more than a mil. Those fights would still be intriguing, and those are even against top boxers, not a 0-0 fighter. The buzz for this fight is big and 90% of it are from casuals. And for them its mma vs boxing.
