Eubank couldn't agree to a contract so they negotiated with Kell who was willing to fight. There was a market in England and they wanted to expand Golovkin's fan base internationally so it worked out for both parties.Comment

GGG fought Stevens, Lemieux, then went out of his way to accommodate Jacobs just so he could fight Jacobs, and now he's fighting Canelo, but you think he is ducking? This is the guy who agreed to fight Dmitry Pirog, the man who knocked out Jacobs, for like 100 grand or something on regular HBO, and signed the contracts and everything. It was going to happen until Pirog injured his back in training.1. GGG said he's considering retirement after Canelo fight
2. Sanchez said Jacobs needs 3~4 more wins to earn rematch
3. Sanchez said Jacobs more derserved than WBC mando Charlo, and Charlo needs more wins.
WTF they are doing? Is that "ducking" which they has always been crying?
But you think he's ducking? Come on. What Abel is saying is that these guys are barely better known than Willie Monroe Jr., so if they're willing to get paid like Willie Monroe Jr. to fight GGG, the fights can happen tomorrow, or as soon as GGG has a free date, but if these guys think they're superstars, and expect to get paid like superstars when they fight GGG, then they better be able to bring the fans and pay-per-view buys that superstars bring, and in order for them to do that, they need to actually fight some guys and become better known the way GGG has.
If they want to get paid like superstars, then they need to actually take some good fights so they can become superstars. Simple. Jacobs took a step in that direction by fighting Quillin, and that's why Jacobs got the purse he wanted to make the GGG fight, otherwise he would have ducked GGG too. Abel is saying if Charlo wants that type of payday, he needs to do the same thing at 160 by beating someone like Jacobs, or if Jacobs wants an even higher payday to rematch GGG than the first fight, then Jacobs needs to keep building his name by beating someone like Charlo. GGG isn't a ducker like a lot of boxers you are used to.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 08-07-2017, 08:32 AM.Comment

Abel is right saying Charlo has done nothing to earn a title shot at 160 - Heiland came into the fight lame in one leg, ffs - but that's boxing politics at work.
Whether he earned it or not, Charlo is now No1 contender for GGG's WBC title, and if he asks for his shot, or the WBC order the fight themselves, GGG will have to defend against him. And GGG will defend against him, no doubt about that.Comment

Cant blame the fighters for what the sanctioning bodies do as far as mandos go. Wade didnt deserve a shot but he got it.Comment

The only way Charlo can beat Jacobs is by KO. I still have doubts about Jacobs chin but if it isn't a liability I don't see Charlo beating him. I doubt Charlo has ever faced anyone with Jacobs power and speed. If he fights Jacobs right now and Jacobs really has good punch resistance, he gets his ass kicked.Comment

The difference is that the IBF ordered Golovkin to defend their title against Wade or be stripped. The WBC haven't yet ordered him to defend against Charlo and Charlo hasn't yet asked for his shot.Last edited by kafkod; 08-07-2017, 08:39 AM.Comment

1. Are u seriously thinking Haymon pay more money than team GGG for Wade? Don't you remember Haymon didn't pay more bids than team Povetkin for Wider? lol yeah. It's ok to fight Tureano Johnson or Dominic Wade , Brook just bcuz they are mando or no choice blah blah, but WBC mando Charlo doesnt' deserve? lolGGG fought Stevens, Lemieux, then went out of his way to accommodate Jacobs just so he could fight Jacobs, and now he's fighting Canelo, but you think he is ducking? 2. In most case, I never used the term "ducking". That's term for team GGG and their ****riders always used. But in their logic, Is GGG doing "ducking" which other fighters did to GGG? Don't give a **** fighters choose money. I just hate double standard and hypocrisy.Comment
