No. Wade was ranked #3, If I recall there is no Interim in IBF so the #1 is considered that where #2 stays vacant. I do remember seeing the ranking and Murata was ranked #4.

The difference is that the IBF ordered Golovkin to defend their title against Wade or be stripped. The WBC haven't yet ordered him to defend against Charlo and Charlo hasn't yet asked for his shot.

Abel is right saying Charlo has done nothing to earn a title shot at 160 - Heiland came into the fight lame in one leg, ffs - but that's boxing politics at work.

Whether he earned it or not, Charlo is now No1 contender for GGG's WBC title, and if he asks for his shot, or the WBC order the fight themselves, GGG will have to defend against him. And GGG will defend against him, no doubt about that.

Abel is not questioning someone's resume is he? GGG beat Marco Antonio Rubio for the WBC title. Yeah, that part! The same guy who was beaten by JCC Jr. in 2012! However, I do want to see Charlo vs. Jacobs for the right to face GGG. Charlo vs. Jacobs! Make it happen!
