Jacobs showed he can be beaten so that's not true. Even if the Jacobs fight never occurred, Golovkin is not invincible. He's been carefully matched. He has power and good skills but also has flaws. He would much rather move down and fight an aging Mayweather than move up and fight a equally skilled fighter in Ward. I also think Canelo has what it takes to beat him but that's another story.

The general public would rather see Mayweather/Golovkin than ward.

Golovkin would earn 10 fold more money fighting Mayweather.

Ward is now a light heavyweight and won't see 168 ever again let alone 160.

Golovkin would drop to 155 for Mayweather although that might not be possible now by the looks of him in the "off season"

So it makes the most sense to fight Mayweather (which is never going to happen) than to fight Ward (which is never going to happen).

Actually the general public wasn't asking because they don't know who he is. It was the boxing fans that don't necessary like Mayweather, because they think this is the winnable fight. I really don't care which one of the fight took place because I think Mayweather is capable of beating Golovkin just as Ward. The thing you should ask yourself (as a Golovkin fan I assume) why would he go down in weight to take on a lesser challenge when a win over Ward would be more commendable? Don't tell me it's about the money because if that's the case, everyone from Vladimir Klitschko on down should be asking to fight Mayweather. If he's invincible, he shouldn't be looking down for a fight, he should be looking up. Yes, both fights are out of reach, but Ward was just as available when he was asking to fight Mayweather.

There is not one video where you will hear Golovkin say he wanted the BJS fight. Never once did he say "it's my dream to have all the belts in my home country and Astana. I need WBO belt with BJS in home country for (undisputed).

Saunders turned down the fight, this isn't in question. Now who knows what the true number is but there is no doubt he turned it down. Golovkin went to the UK to fight. You think he wouldn't have fought Saunders?
