Conor is a boxing fan and to get a fight against Floyd is like a dream. He wants to make a real fist of the entire occassion. Hence the hype and the way he's playing it. His preperation has been key.
I don't think you give Conor enough credit on how intelligent his fight iq is. He knows almost every aspect of every facet of fighting, and can immediately identify weaknesses and strengths of his opponents.

There's no way in hell Conor's in sparring, or watching Floyd, and thinking to himself, I can beat him. And I can knock him out. Maybe, because he's maniaclly confident, but his fight iq is also off the charts, so he's gotta know he stand no chance.

Also, just a way to hurt Conor for future fights, so he doesn't continue winning, and being as big in the media.
The overhand that Aldo tried on Conor and actually touched Conor's chin, had that been Floyd and form, Conor would be on the laying flat on the Octagon canvas.

Floyd would have the best lateral movement ever seen in the Octagon since Holly Holm. Would be eve more Epic is Conor messes up on a take down and Floyd pulls a rubber guard combo on Conor and Joe Rogan retires from everything and yells the longest OMGgggggggg ever performed on a microphone. When Maxi reads these sort of things he cries like That actor who played Spiderman

To an extent I agree. But a fighter isn't a fighter unless he believes he can step into the ring and win. Just with a hope.

Seriously though I see this as exposure for Conor and then a career in boxing if he puts on a decent show.

I can't see him pointing this towards the octagon. However, Fliyd mentioned it on the press tour so yeah. Its a possibility.

For me, career wise if you can hang in the same ring as Floyd in this point in time you have a prestigious boxing career ahead of you.

Once it gets to grappling territory, it's over for him, but before that, you'd have to be crazy to think Floyd has no chance to land a pin point laser beam on his chin, before it gets to that. I honestly give Floyd a decent chance in an MMA fight.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. If he does hang in there for all 12, and has his moments of glory, he would have done something not many top boxers can do.

And let's be honest. Every boxer in the world would die to get int he ring with Conor, and it'll still be a huge payday, regardless of how bad Floyd beats him.

I don't know man. When your career is almost as flawless as Floyd's, do you risk having an embarrassing loss on your highlight reel? The guy actually might be THAT prideful.

I don't think Conor operates like that. I think he LEGIT believes he'll win & KO Floyd in 4. How he reacts when reality comes crashing in on him is to be seen & he's quit quickly 3 times previously, imo, when things went south on him, but he's for sure walking into the ring thinking Floyd will fall in four.

Most of you cats talking about what Conor is "really about" lately haven't been following Conor for the last 4 & a half years like myself & other MMA fans have. This guy has drank his own kool aid.

Bro, trust me, I know exactly how Conor operates, and I know how incredibly smart he is when it comes to fighting, which is why I thought of this. He knows the deepest facets of fighting, and HAS TO KNOW that he can't compete with a guy like Floyd in his own sport.

I'm sure he can come off like he believes, because why in the **** would he secretly tell a guy like Paulie that this is just a money grab, and him taking this serious doesn't really indicate that he truly thinks he's gonna win. It indicates that he's a pro fighter that always trains like a beast for any form of competition.

I just don't buy it. Deep down, we all know this i just a money grab, and there's just no way he thinks he can actually beat a guy that can plan 10 moves ahead of his own moves, before he even thinks of throwing a punch.

I actually think guys like you that believe he believes are the ones that don't know how he operates, and getting tricked into buying this. I mean seriously, what is this secret plan he has? An awkward stance? A counter left? A spinning triple axe lutz into a uppercut/hook hybrid? What? This is still boxing at the end of the day, and there's only so many things you can do in there. That's why boxers fight the way they do in the ring. It's because its' tried and true, and time tested. His crazy and awkward style will probably get him beaten even easier, then if he just fought like a traditional boxer.
