Everything else is subjective bs being speculated on by cats who've seen like 5 Joe Louis fights & 7 Ali fights so why would anyone give a f#ck about your (royally using "your" so no dork gets all mad at me & suggest I'm accusing them of something) opinion historical any f#cking way.

Exactly, it's all speculation. Wlad's acheivements amount to nothing now because someone 50 years ago could have beat him? It's ******.

To me he is between 6-15, I don't like to be more specific than that because it can create arguments. You can make a case for him in any of those spots. For me he is closer to 15, when I have properly disected it in the past I've had him around 10-12 I believe.

These things are always pretty tough because different careers have different peaks and troughs. Also in a lot of these situations there aren't many parrarels when comparing records, so how do you measure one or two great performance/wins against several good/solid wins? It's things like this that I think people find tough to measure.

I personally always hold a high value to those special elite wins, and in some cases even in losses. If you have the longevity and those good/solid wins to supplement the great ones then even better.

As an example of someone who I hold in seriously high esteem but didn't necessarily have very many good wins is Vitali Klitschko. The main reason being that what he showed in 6 rounds against Lewis was incredible. It showed that he belonged, he ticked all the boxes against another atg. Subsequently he did have some extremely dominant wins against good/decent fighters to cement to me that it was no one off. For that reason I would actually have Vitali very close to Wlad in a historical sense, and head to head I think Vitali would have stopped him in a real fight. But you probably have to have Wlad slightly ahead because of the overall body of work.

Wlad would beat most ATG heavyweights with his jab and height alone... Just like Lewis easily beat Tua.

                  Earnie Shavers
                  Ron Lyle
                  George Foreman
                  Mike Tyson
                  Rid**** Bowe
                  Lennox Lewis
                  Evander Holyfield
                  Tyson Fury
                  Anthony Joshua

Dempsey, Marciano & Tyson are pressure guys using a "pressure style" instead of a stand up boxers form. However their pressure style is extremely difficult to master and the conditioning needed to perform at a high level is extreme.
Lyle, Foreman, Bowe and Lewis are stand up punchers who have good boxing skills. This is the group that Wlad would fit into but to a lesser ranking position wise.

I give Wlad credit for being champion but he was not a gifted boxer by any means. He was a basic one/two puncher who had a limited defense and held constantly. Never learned to clinch or
                  sustain a body attack.
If he was trained in the States in his youth he could have been a much better talent because he was a good athlete.
Nice man and a gentleman but certainly not a great boxer.

                  Ray
tyson fury who was hw champion for one bout was better than wlad who was champion for one decade? based on your visual observations? & joshua is some highly dynamic boxing stylist?

                  no bias at all surely

(One of the current heavyweights due to better comp than during his era)
                    Tunney..

Not Wlads fault his time at top had no real comp but I believe he would do well in other era's due to his size, jab and conditioning!
                    LOL!

So, can you explain how Dempsey was better? He was certainly a bigger star, one of the pioneers of boxing, bringing it into the 20th century and a brutal ,entertaining fighter...but can you explain if his world title reign was longer? If he had as many defences? If he faced better opposition? How long his championship level career lasted?

Heck, he would barely be a cw by todays standards.

Can you do the same for Fitzsimmons?

And which one of the current hws?
