duBoef has a point when he says Mikey you wanted out of your contract with us but now you want to fight our guys? But he's a scumbag for bringing up Mikey not wanting to fight Gamboa and leaving out the reason why which had nothing to do with being afraid of Gamboa. Top Rank wanted to extend his contract and offered a big fight to bait him and Mikey just wanted to fight the remaining fights on his deal to become a free agent. They refused to give him any fights unless he added more years to his deal and he refused to fight under those extended terms and it was stalemate for years until his contract expired. duBoef knows that and is playing ******.

Todd went off and said some scathing things...but he needs to stop it with Gamboa and passing this dude off as elite. He rarely fights now and hasn't looked good in years

Fight 4 times A year to build a big name and then money will begin to rise again in the sport. Ppl like keith thurman and danny garcia etc fight as though they are boxing royalty and go out 1 or 2 times a year and hey thats up to them. But they wont ever be a name anybody knows that aint already a boxing fan. Someone lime errol spence and crawford could be stars like de la hoya, shane mosley, felix trinidad etc if they can push for fighting 4x a yr also. And it isnt like they would have to have huge hard fights everytime out either. Those others i named fought pretty often, especially de la hoya and sometimes it was against top opponents and then theyd throw in some tough but not expected to win fighters with them and it just kept name out there and ppl watched them multiple times a yr and they became pretty much household names. Thurman, garcia, spence, jacobs, charlo, porter, etc has the talent to do the same
On the other hand, there's another approach; rather than just fighting to fight, focus on making as many meaningful matchups as possible.

yea, that approach is rubbish
great post !
the ONLY course of action is to label those guys as hype-jobs
either..... a fighter believes in himself, and attempts to fight the best..... or..... he contents himself with lesser opponents, to bank that cheque
which is why Mikey is trying to make the biggest fights possible..... he knows that his clock is ticking, and he believes in himself
I firmly believe that Loma is legit, talentwise..... I am one of his longest supporters on this site because I said that he was a top P4P fighter nearly 2 years ago..... but if he is content to hide behind Arum..... then he will earn the hypejob tag as well
I will only support the REAL fighters now..... fighters who make big fights happen..... like Ward/Canelo/Garcia, maybe Spence/Kovalev/etc
I am a little disappointed with Kovalev's excuses/team..... but at least he appears to be willing to make big fights..... I would certainly prefer to support him over fighters who run around talking shht and making excuses

Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, and others have fought less, but they've been able to properly price their fights for big shows, and actually draw money.
Golovkin has "sold out" venues at dramatically reduced ticket prices, or in the UK (where most of the money was actually drawn by Londoners paying to back the UK fighter).
