The fight is happening because ggg kept fighting and his name started being thrown around towards canelo and it kept building until canelo had to talk about it and finally got fed up and said what he said after fight last yr and then there was even more pressure so he tool thr fight. It isnt that hard to understand man. **** thurman has been fighting big fights once a yr and ppl in his own state, own town even dont know who he is. Its because of inactivity. Ggg is from fooking bo**** home lol. And he has a worldwide name in the sporting world because of fooking activity lmfao. Its very easy to understand, it is boxing 101 and ive tried explaining this to you since my first post about being an active, known fighter. I mean i comprehend what you are saying but its just not compatable to building a real brand. Fine garcia and thurman fight once a yr against a top guy, but nobody gives a **** but us and when the fights over its usually pretty forgettable. GOTTA be ACTIVE

Golovkin's stock will fall, as Jacobs/Canelo/Charlo stock rises
Golovkin would have to fight those guys, or risk losing shine like Brook/Thurman/etc when they started milking lower-level opponents..... Spence went straight to the top of the class because he is willing to fight everyone
Golovkin is at the point where he needs to shht or get off the pot
another example..... 18 months ago, Golovkin was the man at 160, no question..... but NOW, I need to see him beat Charlo, I am unsure if he could beat Jacobs in a rematch, and I think that he will lose to Canelo in September..... also, I would need to see how Saunders looks with Monroe, but I do not think that Golovkin would have an easy job with him either
it was either, take that Canelo money now..... or risk exposing Golovkin to guys who do not have a favorable style

I disagree, i think he beats jacobs again and maybe even wider. I would dig seeing him against charlo but i wouldnt go thinking charlo is a superman because he just beat a one legged man at best in his coming out party last weekend. And ive alwats thought canelo will be a hard fight but again maybe notbecause they gonna be in front of each other like a mf'r and thats gonna be interesting and fun to watch. And saunders.... who we think would win, is not the point.....
the point is..... taking that Canelo-money NOW, is far wiser than being forced to take fights against opponents with unfavorable styles for little reward
these decisions are all about risk/reward
well, the reward for Canelo has not improved, it will only get smaller if Golovkin's stock drops...... and the risk is much more significant, as Golovkin did get exposed a little against Danny JacobsComment

who the favorites to win are what makes it risk and reward guy. How can someone say oh he is cashing out, and then he goes and ko the guy haha. And you may think he got exposed a little vs jacobs but i happen to be a very big fan of jacobs and his fights and i always thought it was probable that ggg was gonna win close decision and he did. Jacobs is the #2 mw in the world. He beats charlo, canelo, etc. So i guess we have a disagreement on what jacobs is as a fighter and what constitutes exposedComment
