That fight was dirty as fk from both fighters. Let's not all rewrite history, both of ya'll are right but won't give each other an inch in this argument. Floyd has been criticized for his elbows since he moved up from the 130's. Ortiz has always been a head first kind of guy who is susceptible to the uppercut much like Bradley and Porter.Comment

The two worst dressed people in combat sports facing off. They should've called this fight "fashion suicide".Comment

I get what you are saying but at the same time its nothing to gloat about. Far less have beaten ortiz much better than by controversy.Comment

Yeah man I agree, that fight had the making to be a good 1 but both guys took away from the fans. That fight was dirty as fk from both fighters. But to my beginning point, I see Floyd boxing the same way against Mcgregor as he did Ortiz and finish Mcgregor around 8 or 9.Comment

Yes I saw the fight as competitive. Floyd had done very little damage up until that point. It wasn't as if Ortiz figured Floyd out up to that point but nothing suggests that he was faded and would not have went balls out to force Floyd to fight. I saw the fight as competitive. Cortez was a joke to allow that as a legit KO. Anyone who saw it know it was a sucker punch.Controversy aside man, you really think it was competitive? I rewatched this fight specifically when Conor vs Mayweather was made because thats the 1st fight that popped into my head. Big(muscular), young, athletic, southpaw, with a chip on his shoulder and all I seen was Floyd school him until ortiz threw 1 decent Flurry and spazzed out.
Now again controversy aside, I think itd be safe to say Ortiz wouldve found a way out of that fight in the later rds.Comment

Head first and a blatant head butt are two different things. This wasn't a Porter or Bradley situation. You're doing a pretty good job of rewriting history yourself. That fight was dirty as fk from both fighters. What other top fighter did Ortiz blatantly head butt in that way? Ortiz lost every round and was missing a lot more than he was landing. His face was also getting marked up.
I know what fight I watched but typically people want to make it into something it wasn't as if others forgot.Comment

Regarding the Ortiz drama - Victor was just ****** in that situation. Yes Floyd hit him when he dropped his hands but you are NEVER supposed to drop your hands and he had already headbutted Floyd like he was in a street fight before that. I don't think Floyd would've done that to him if he hadn't headbutted him. However Ortiz f"cked up, did something he shouldn't have and paid the ultimate price. Was it dirty? No because Ortiz started it. What I always say is it's like he stabbed Floyd with a knife then Floyd pulled the gun out and shot him. Boom! Game over!
Was it competitive? Hell no. Which is why Ortiz got desperate and did what he did.Comment
