That means throwing fast, hard punches on the heavybag with everything you've got, every time - once you've gotten down the proper mechanics and punching technique.

You'll gas out quickly but as the weeks and months go by your stamina and endurance will increase..

You will train and condition the muscles to explode off your shoulder like a fighter jet launching off an aircraft carrier.

This must be thought of as foundation building. Eventually you can move over to shoe shining fast combos the way most coaches prefer - but build the foundation of generating power under your technique first.. This does not work well in the reverse.

Now, in terms of technique; staying with the aircraft analogy, you want to shoot from your shoulder and right before you hit the target tighten up that fist and push through it like Bruce Lee using that that hip thrust for his one inch punch.. With your entire body.

A powerful punch in my view has multiple stages like a rocket. The thrusters in your back and arms give you speed but you must use your fist as a detonating warhead.. So your arm becomes a chain as opposed to a club or a stick.

Now obviously most boxing trainers will never let you get away with this. They'll want you to train in more balanced way and more than likely they'll want you to emphasize speed and combination throwing over anything. They won't want you to load up on your punches..

As much as you are able to try and find your own path and way of doing things. People may laugh at you or discourage you in the beginning for not doing things in a classical way but eventually over time you will see the results..
Thank you for your insight! Yes, that is so true...

Yea, I definitely agree that power is something you kind of have or don't...

I also believe that proper technique also factors into the equation.

It still makes an interesting topic to talk about! It never gets old. lol. There is science and physics behind the punching power, but there definitely is an intangible/mystery behind it.

You need a whole life to become a master, only your body stops you from improving once you have reached a given age, there's no such ceiling, there's age catching you or you stopping training, that's all. You can always be faster, be smarter hit harder unless you got old or lazy.
Very true. I see that you have a GIF of George Foreman. He is an example of punching power being a God-given.

However, I do know the importance of proper technique and hard training, etc to improve punching power.
