When did You reach your Full Punching Power Potential (Ceiling)

    Hello,

I am still pretty fresh to boxing. I've been boxing for a few months now including some strength conditioning.
I was curious and interested to know when:

*You reached your max punching power potential (ceiling) Was in it a matter or weeks, months, years?

*How much did your power improve after starting boxing?

I know that proper technique has a huge factor in this, but I want to hear your guys' experience!

    Thanks!

I don't know. I'm 17 149 right now and I have put down heavyweights in sparring. And last year I couldn't. So I imagine soon but if I continue to get stronger then that would be crazy.

Honestly, since technique factors into your punching power, you can train for years and never hit your ceiling.

If your technique and coordination between your legs, hips and shoulders improves your punching power will improve. This is something that comes with time and intelligent practice.

This is also the reason why power is the last to go (or never leaves).

So funny the damage mcgregor is doing to boxing. You cant reach your ceiling in a matter of weeks, nor month, nor a few years. Rigo or floyd started boxing at what? at 5? You need a whole life to become a master, only your body stops you from improving once you have reached a given age, there's no such ceiling, there's age catching you or you stopping training, that's all. You can always be faster, be smarter hit harder unless you got old or lazy.

Your gym really must suck dude, you must be sparring the biggest crap in this world. Look for another gym.

Plus, you are a liar, dude ;-)

            Gotcha, Thanks for your opinion.

Are you personally noticing your punching power increase as time goes by?

Well there is that whole debate how "punching power is born not made"...

I noticed after about 2 years my punches became soldified so i threw them the same way everytime or same proper technique. Then after that it only matters if you get physically stronger but once you max out on technique your natural strength will add to the rest of the power of the punch

After I got into college I had been boxing for about 4 years and I guess that's when I felt really good.

We go to the same gym & I've seen him box, he's not lying. He actually has a hard time getting any of the HWs to spar with him anymore. They don't say it but you can tell they're tired of being embarrassed so they always have "minor injuries" that miraculously heal as soon as he goes home.
