The Mayweather/McGregor event will undoubtedly overshadow Oscar's sales for the Canelo/Golovkin bout. However, he has no one to blame for this but himself. He had two years to make this bout happen but failed to do so. The timing of the Mayweather/McGregor event couldn't have been worse. It's just three weeks out from De La Hoya's card.

Oscar tried to do the pac-mayweather thing with canelo-GGG by letting it build up for 2 years after the fans and GGG repeatedly asked for the fight, hoping GGG would age during that time.. ah well, no loss to the fans. You're partly right. Oscar had that fight with Mayweather in the bag. Unfortunately he gassed out in the later rounds and Floyd took over. Oscar beat himself in that fight. I don't think he's bitter about it. I do think he's jealous of Floyds marketing prowess.
