Usyk Backlash? Where? Can we get links to all this Backlash that you seem to see but nobody else does. Seems like you just wanted to start a thread about Uysk but didn't know WTF to talk about

Hmm...I don't really see a lot of hate.
There have been a lot of people that were disappointed in his last two performances and I don't blame them.
I called it out before the fights. Mchunu and Hunter were not two guys that are there to make you look great. Hunter was named the best boxer of the 2012 USA Olympic team by his teammates after all.

And I still think he completely dominated Mchunu after the first two rounds.
Against Hunter he didn't look in good form at all.
He still won pretty easily after the first three rounds, but there was definitely something off.

Now he's entered into a tournament along with most of the other top guys in his division. It's time to prove people right or wrong.

Admittedly I've only seen him in his last two fights but he just doesn't look like the "goods" to me. Semi struggling with limited opposition.

I don't think he has many people hating him, at least I haven't seen it.

He hasn't looked as amazing as he was hyped up to be in his last 2 fights (which happen to be his first 2 fights on HBO where a big audience got to see him fight).

Those who are doubting off of those last 2 fights though should watch his fight with Glowacki which was right before these 2 HBO fights. Watch that and you will see why people are so high on him. Against his best opponent he looked completely dominant and fought with a lot of fluidness that you don't see usually from the CW division.

I think part of the hate or doubt if there is some could be that people are tying him to Loma in their minds. Same trainer (Loma's dad), same country, good friends who are at each other's fights, each other's kids godfather. Loma having his haters could rub off and cause Usyk hate by association. Or people see how amazing Loma truly is, and see this guy that HBO is hyping up with him and saying well he doesn't deserve that, but no CW is ever gonna look as amazing as Loma (hell how many fighters look as talented as Loma period?).

Luckily for Usyk he is in a division that just agreed to the best tournament in years that will give him a real shot to prove any doubters wrong.
