Realistically only welterweights that can beat Floyd are Leonard/Hearns/Robinson.

There's a reason those who know boxing make a comparison between Corrales and Hearns. Stop using height as some advantage against TBE, it's not.
De La Hoya towered over him - got schooled.
Corrales towered over him - got schooled even worse.
Castillo towered over him - beat twice.
The problem with those three is that though taller, they didn't fight tall. Floyd was able to break them down over time.
Hearns fought tall. That's a problem because he wouldn't be able to guard his body effectively. Floyd's jab to the body sets up everything else he does, and we all know it'd just take one good shot to the chin from a Prime Floyd to send Hearns to Bambi land before a stoppage ala Hagler.Comment

Exactly, this era of fighters is ****ing ****. We live in a PC era of sports whereby every top athlete is pampered beyond imagination. It's only in this era where cherry picking and ducking seems to net financial rewards. There's just so much wrong with this era but that's a different topicStay gassed on who you saw Floyd beat from this era of boxers, and the only dude who believes fighters from previous eras are outdated, is you.
At welterweight, Floyd stuck with guys who's style would never be a threat to his, or if it was, he waited them out until the fights themselves entered low risk, high reward territory. Srl, fought and beat a prime, elite hearns, a guy who was a style nightmare. We could't get Floyd nowhere near guys who presented the worst style matchup.
and Its not to say other guys haven't waited a guy out, but certainly not to the degree that Money May mastered it.

Wait what? Those who know boxing compare Hearns to Corrales?
I've never heard such a thing in my life.
Hearne could box going forward or backwards. He had one of the best jabs in history. A lightning straight right down the middle.
Corrales was a plodder who could crack. No real jab.
No comparison.
Are you saying they were similar because they were tall fir their weight class?Comment

Thats fine and all and could be true, but my comment was referring to Floyd specifically.OK...I had enough of this, Dude I train fighters & I can truly & honesty say that fighters now a days don't have the same work ethics of the guys in the past. The only advantage that these fighters have today is;
1- They have easy access to youtube videos .
2- They have PED's & steriods.
3- tend to be more technical incline but the problem is that they don't have the conditioning of the guys in the past. And they are not taught properly, I cringe when I see so many world class fighters that can't even bend their knees and they lean in with their punches. don't get wrong back then they did the same errors, but now a days they do it in an insurmontable amount.
As far as everyone else, Im sure its allot of fighters of today, who dont dedicate themselves tactically and conditionally the way the throwbacks did.Comment

Not true. When Floyd and Pac wasnt fighting eachother, he always fought the best in the weightclass outside of Pac. And when that opponent wasnt their, he jumped to a higher weightclass and faced guys like Cotto and Canelo.Stay gassed on who you saw Floyd beat from this era of boxers, and the only dude who believes fighters from previous eras are outdated, is you.

Their is no such thing called "Floyd specifically chose this type of a opponent" All those dudes were the same. Just opponents. And some of them were brawlers, boxers, swarmers. Against Floyd, they just regular opponents throwing punches, and he humiliated them. See it doesnt matter what style you have. Against Floyd, you are flatfooted and clumsey. Pac is fast af, and I thought that fight was closer than the scorecards had it, but against Floyd, Pac looked flatfooted, and slow. Like everyone else.
And Pac is the only time Floyd refused to fight someone and accused them or roids, and fought him when they were both old. Similar to SRL's scary azz against Hagler.
But most of Floyd's meaningful fights where against guys half his age, and twice his size. He HUMILIATED them. Pac is not Floyd's most meaningful fight imo. Its Canelo. Its crazy how old and small Floyd was, and how young and huge Canelo was, and Floyd made it look CRAZY. Walking him down without getting hissed.
SRL would get killed against a guy who is 22, while he himself is 37, and 15lbs lighter. It wouldnt even be sanctioned.
I think its absurd to sit here and think that ANY fighter from the freakig 80's presented ANY type of threat to Floyd. I would take Grandpa Floyd, from 2013, who walked down Canelo, and put him in a fight against prime SRL, and I think he would TKO him.
Only stylistic nightmare for Floyd, was Pacman. Pac was washed when they fought, but he was still awkward as all get out. Made no difference though, Floyd is just impossible to beat.
But I think Hagler and GGG can beat him on a "size and force" technicality. You have to go one weight class above Floyd's highest weight class, and probably find loads of guys who can beat him on size and force.
But as far as LEGITLY beating him by being the better man, its impossible. I give Conor a chance on Size and Force and age as well.Comment

I agree with this. The legacy fights for Floyd are probably Hernandez, Corrales, Gatti, DLH (household fame), Manny (PPV record), and Canelo. He had several other great wins - Judah, Mosley, Cotto, Manfredy, JLC, and of course HattonBut most of Floyd's meaningful fights where against guys half his age, and twice his size.
