That's the bottom line. And Malignaggi doesn't have HBO behind him like Cotto. So you can't accuse Malignaggi of something, when Cotto is guilty of the same thing.

Cotto's management's response to Cotto being rocked and almost TKO'd in two straight fights against fringe competitors... Gianluca Branco.

    That's sad.
Like I've stated the guys Cotto has been fighting are legends compared to the stiffs Malignaggi is fighting.

    That's the bottom line.

Abdulaev, Pinto, Corley, and Ndou aren't exactly the greatest of names, but they're solid fighters and in Abdulaev's case...a real tough threat kind of guy.

Malignaggi's opponents get more time on camera when they're painted up and yelling at the ballgame on their days off.

I'm talking about Malignaggi when I say he's being rushed into this wayyyyy too early. It almost seems like Malignaggi HAS to be better than we think or else he is just ****ing crazy. Like I said, I won't be surprised if Malignaggi wins very impressively on June 10th. When a guy with so little experience rushes into a huge fight, it's either because they are the real deal (Vargas was, just not great enough to beat Oscar or Tito) or they are trying to cash in. I heard Malignaggi has brittle hands. Maybe he already knows his career won't last long and is trying to cash in by outboxing some relatively big name opponents. If he loses, he tries his hand at something else.

But don't come on the forum on June 10th talking about how big an upset Malignaggi pulled because the jury is so out on both of these guys that you can't straight up tell me one guy is head and shoulders above the other one. True, Cotto has destroyed very good opposition, but Malignaggi hasn't fought an elite opponent yet. What if he beats Cotto with ease? Point is, you never know when you have nothing to judge a fighter by. None of you have seen enough of Malignaggi (least I don't think so) to tell me he's pathetic. A lot of guys fight to the level of their opposition after all.

That's just the thing. I have seen many fights of Malignaggi. I'm impressed but at first was a fan of his interviews and trash talking.

He has a lot of gifts and enough to frustrate Cotto. Malignaggi is fast, slick and is going the distance with Cotto. That's what I feel.

What you're going to see is a clinch fest and believe me, Malignaggi knows it's sink or swim so he won't go in the fight, fighting wreckless like Corrales did in the rematch against Castillo.

DiegoFuego, great post I believe you made some good point's and true we can't say we've seen him sink or swim against somebody on Cotto's level so the jury's out!Me personally I can't be mad at the talking it got him a great oppurtunity that I doubt he would have got this soon. I've saw like 3 of PM fight's and the big concern I do have though is can he slow Cotto's pressure some because it doesn't APPEAR that he could seriously hurt Cotto but we'll seee soon enough.

well, cotto MAY end up getting really frustrated that across the ring, sits a man on his stool with gayer eyebrows. that may take cotto out of his element.

i dont want him to win. but i would not at all be suprised to see malignaggi give cotto a boxing lesson.

but i hope to god that cotto breaks this green punk in half.
