The question is whether or not his punches hurt enough. If they hurt just a little bit, he can outbox Cotto. If he is as feather fisted as it seems, he will lose. If he hits harder than what it looks, as in, if his small figure of only 5 KOs is some unlucky happenstance or is actually his brittle hands, he could win.
Nah, I dont think his power matters much. If you know how to box then that it wont hurt you if you are feather fisted. Spinks cant hurt anything but he's been a Champ.

People assume that if your featherfisted then a guy can walk right through you and thats true if your a power guy but if your a boxer then a guy cant walk through you because you are always moving and you know the angles. Everytime Cotto comes forward Paulie will slide to the right and throw a quick right hand or the same thing on the other side.

It may not be nothing that will hurt Cotto but its enough to keep the guy off you and frusrtrate him and you will be scoring at the same time. Then the next time he expects the same and thats when you sit down and throw a 4 punch combo and then get out by time he swings. Thats what boxers do and I love to see it

I agree that he is a dream fight for Cotto and his fans. He is a guy that seems to posses no real threat and has no power but Cotto will get decent credit for beating him.

However, with that comes great expectations and if Cotto cant dominate him early or quickly get him out of there then there will be alot of uncertainty in that Areana and from Cotto's fans. I dont think this will be as easy as you think

Who you talking about Cotto or Malignaggi. The truth is, that could be a statement on Cotto and what's worst is that Cotto has no real names worthy of the attention/hype/push he's received from HBO higher ups.

Cotto has established himself over the last 2 years and should ruin Malignaggi's career. But I won't be surprised if Malignaggi easily outboxes him either because I don't know jack about him, and Cotto isn't some p4p great by any stretch of the imagination.

Has some skills, but I don't think he will beat Cotto. If he beats Cotto, then we have a new superstar in boxing.

Right and fighting a little known slick brooklynite that fights guys his uncle fires from the pizzaria, won't and hasn't really caught my attention as being an exciting prospect fight.

It's going to be a slaughter.

And the guys Cotto is fighting are HOF material in comparison to the guys Malignaggi faces on a regular basis.

Neither of them are fighting the best.

That's the bottom line. And Malignaggi doesn't have HBO behind him like Cotto. So you can't accuse Malignaggi of something, when Cotto is guilty of the same thing.

Cotto's management's response to Cotto being rocked and almost TKO'd in two straight fights against fringe competitors... Gianluca Branco.

                    That's sad.

I think this is too soon for Malignaggi to be taking this type of challenge. I think Cotto will knock him out. Cotto is actually a pretty good boxer, and he has been fighting good opposition. The problem is that Cotto is just fighting B+ opposition over and over and over again, and it is time already to see him in a big fight against A opposition. Pinto, Torres, Branco, Corley, Abdullaev are all solid B+ fighters but he keeps stepping sideways rather than stepping up.
