Camacho Jr has proven he was a bust , Chavez Jr is trying to prove he wont be a bust.

Woudn't it be cool to see two sons of legendary fighters go at it ?

I'm gonna take Camacho Jr just for being in the tougher fights so far.

Camacho Jr wanted to fight Chavez jr. 1 year ago, but the Chavez camp said not yet.

He talked about it for a while, but Chavez is much more young and green. With more experience Chavez Jr will beat Camacho Jr. But that fight may never happen as Machito has moved up in weight and is far too lazy to drop to 147.

Judging by your Avatar and Username, I can see why you would say that; but I disagree....very strongly.

Camacho had the talent to be a legend and an all-time great; but he failed. He never was the same after the Rosario fight...and he's a two time paper titlist (jr. lightweight and lightweight), not a six time world champion. Those belts mean nothing and you know that as well as I do. Beating Ray Mancini after Boom Boom's 4 year layoff does not constitute a title fight of any kind...and really set the standard for the WBO's importance or lack thereof.

Then...there's that all time great Todd Foster and the IBC Welterweight Championship. I really don't need to elaborate on this one.

Then he beat an 80 year old Roberto Duran (he was seriously 44 years old) for the Vacant IBC Middleweight Championship...and several thought Duran won that fight, btw.

And his 6th "world title" was the coveted IBC jr. Middleweight championship he won from the great Tony Menefee... Oh yeah, him. Tony at that time was best known for winning a 6 Round Decision over Reggie Strickland two fights before who had a record of 43-185-12. It was the fourth meeting beteen the two.

These are how the "Macho Man" acquired his "championship gold".


Now, should I start listing who he's lost to and how? No, I don't want to be mean. I remember reading one of your posts where you said he was kind of a friend of yours, so I'll stop with this.....he is the biggest waste of talent I've seen. Once Rosario awakened his fears within, he never again showed the promise as he did in his youth. Damn shame, really.

he was a good fighter and for him to be able to compete after all this means he aint as much of a ***** as some of us say he is. camacho at least deserves credit for being tough enough to step into the ring and fight some very tough fighters.

That's the weird thing, and something I never could figure out. Judging by the beating he took against Chavez, Trinidad, and De La Hoya, I know he's got heart cause he never quit despite having his ass handed to him on a silver platter.

The only thing I can figure is it must be pride. He's never been knocked out and he's proud of that....and is not afraid to run shamelessly to keep from entering the dream room for a count of 10.
