    You god damn moron sturm...

You can barely recall Powell...you have seen 22 seconds of the guy and your saying he's good and has a shot at 154 and 160...what type of frame of reference is this?

Makes me wonder how many times you saw Felix Sturm fight before you begin to call him king (probably about a round and a half)...settle down sturm, settle down my man.

didnt take me a round to know sturm was good just 10 seconds and i saw a little bit of powell vs frazier didnt recall if that was him or not though, he had frazier pretty hurt that one round he seemed pretty solid to me

powell has a hard road ahead of him to compete but if he hardens up his chin and works hard he can make it. unfortunately, he has that boxing style that isn't tv friendly and he doesn't have that star quality about him that will make him a big name.

i do like though how sechew takes his career really seriously. he's got a great amateur experience and you won't see him show up to a fight in less then stellar shape.

No he does not. Powell is nothing special. He should already have one loss. That win against Grady Brewer was as a ****in gift.

One loss. With todays fans they think that a fighter must be undefeated or never have a bad night to be worthy. I hear people ripping on GREAT fighters for losing one bout. Could be that they had a bad night or could be that they ran into the style that will always give them fits. There is one style for everybody that will give them trouble. Leonard had the style to take Hagler, Jones had the style to take Toney. Theres always someone that could give you trouble.

I watched the guy work and I watched him spar a really good fighter. I agree that it was only one time and I should see more but I liked what I saw alot.

that's a good point. leonard - hagler was an extremely close bout, but i do agree that leonard was a tough style matchup for hagler. if the fight was 15 rounds though, that's a different story.

Do you think Powell will win be a legit world champ?

Be straight-I dont want to hear how nice the kid is or how hard he works or he has a shot if he gets the right fight...is he the goods or not?

Im not a fighter like yourself but I love this damn sport and from my view he is not A quality.

Its very possible. He is still relatively young in his professional career and will need some time to grow. But watching him work I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw. Is he the goods, cant tell yet. I would put my money on him before I would put my money on a guy like Malignasi or however you spell that guys name.

Jones and Leonard are Hall of Fame fighters. There is no shame in losing to them. Grady Brewer is a diffrent story. He's prospect exposer. If a prospect can't beat him they usually don't make it to the next level (rememeber Anthony Thompson?). And Powell didn't beat him. Anybody who saw that fight on Shobox will say that.
