Freitas and Funeka are now slick technical boxers, GTFOH. Who said Morales was In his prime? All fighters slip as they age, he was not shot as you are Insinuating. The only reason that you are making that Insinuation Is to discredit Pacquiao's wins over him. He came back five years after Pacquiao stopped him and gave Maidana the fight of his life. The same Maidana who many felt fought to a draw with Mayweather.

Freitas and Funeka were not, but they were also not made-to-order plodders..... were they?
the second part of that question proved my point..... why did they fight David (will be standing right in front of you) Diaz, and not Campbell/Casamayor, or even baby-bull?
and nobody said Morales was shot...... I said that he was past his best and had already started to show signs of slippage
this is before Maidana.....
By Jason Kim: Former three division world champion Erik Morales (51-6, 35 KO’s) isn’t very old in terms of years at only 34. However, Morales has had a lot of fights and boxed 387 rounds as a pro compared to only 114 for his next opponent Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s), whom he fights on April 9th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It might not seem like a big deal, but many of those rounds that Morales has fought have been grueling ones where he took a lot of punishment in fights against Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barrera, David Diaz, Zahir Raheem, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Paulie Ayala, In-Jin Chi, Guty Espadas Jr and Wayne McCullough.
Those were all very tough fights for Morales, with him taking a massive amount of punishment. It’s perhaps for this reason that Morales seems to have aged to the point where he resembles more of a shot fighter than a true #1 WBC light welterweight contender. Frankly, that ranking that the WBC has given Morales is laughable. Morales is more of 2nd tier guy now with a famous name.
Like a lot of aging fighters, Morales doesn’t seem to realize how average he’s become since coming back in 2010. He’s not fighting anything like he used to. It’s like he’s fighting in slow motion now when you watch some of his old fights. The things that he used to be able to do, he can’t do anymore and he’s facing the biggest puncher and perhaps the toughest fighter in the light welterweight division in Maidana.Comment

No way. This isn't a prime or even slightly past his prime Manny that could beat Crawford. This is a borderline done Pac that would get stopped by Crawford.
38 year old vs 29 year old.Comment

Weren't you arguing In a previous post that Pacquiao should have fought Raheem, the guy that beat Morales Instead of rematching Morales? Now Pacquiao should have fought Casamayor, or baby-bull yet he beat the man that beat both of those guys In Juan Manuel Marquez.

I didn't mind that rematch, I was just pointing out that Pac often seemed to avoid difficult opponents, or opponents with difficult styles.....
..... which is why I mentioned 135, and David (will be standing right in front of you) Diaz..... and 140, with Ricky (will be standing right in front of you) Hatton..... and at 147, before he fought Mayweather, Pac's highest ranked opponent was Bradley.....
Manny did not fight any of those #3 welters since 2009, NOT ONE of them..... but Mayweather fought ALL of them
Pac refused Mosely TWICE when he was ranked #1, only selecting him when it became obvious that Shane was shot
he refused to fight Top Rank's number one pick Miguel Cotto at 150, back when Cotto was the JMW champ, demanding that fight at 147
you get my point
those are facts, but you can call them whatever you like
it was great matchmaking, everyone does itComment

Wouldn't this be similar to Floyd? Out of 49 opponents 19 were coming off of losses. Who on his resume tops Morales or Barrera?Comment

Why did you not touch on the fact that you completely contradicted yourself?

ummm..... you just asked that, and I just answered it
you are aware that Morales had just LOST to Raheem right ?
I have no problem with Pac rematching Morales, to avenge his loss..... but that will not somehow make Raheem suddenly disappear..... will it?
no wait, it did
pretty sure you got my point.....

Morales had just beaten Pacquiao before losing to Raheem
so there is no logic whatsoever in suggesting that Raheem is somehow too far beneath Pacquiao to warrant consideration
that is just an excuse, of course he should have fought him
If Mayweather had not fought Baldomir you would be saying the exact same thing about him that I am saying about RaheemComment
