If he could consolidate all belts and equal or beat Hopkins' defense record on top of that, he'd have to be seriously considered for #1 middleweight of all time. Not sure he can do any of these, as I think his peak may be at or nearing its end. Thoughts?
I'm a big fan of G and I think he will beat Canelo. If he gets past Canelo and Charlo I think he is in the conversation as an all time great. The thing is how good is Charlo really at this new weight.
But #1 of all time? There have been some incredible fighters at middleweight.

You're right! Temporarily lost my mind!

At 168? The conversation is about the Middleweight division.

Beat Canelo and Jacobs, then move to 168 and call out Ward. Beat Ward and beat a couple other good fighters. Do all this and GGG cracks the all time top 40 for me.

There is honestly nothing Golovkin can do to become an ATG. Great in ALL TIMES.

            Canelo - Good win
Charlo - Hasn't fought anyone other than Williams and Trout (unimpressive).
            Lara - 34 yrs old

There just isn't anybody to fight. Golovkin could knock 'em all out and it wouldn't make him an atg. I'd consider him a good middleweight but lets be real, he won't beat Ward and is a 60-40 underdog against Stevenson at best.

People need to get out of fantasy land and stop acting like Golovkin will be able to move up to 175 and beat top fighters. Ward whooped a natural lhw in Sergey Kovalev who has power on GGG's level. Ward would have it easier against GGG. Stevenson is too fast, too big, and too hard of a puncher for Golovkin to conquer. Stevenson isn't that versatile but he would beat GGG.

So he needs to beat guys that weigh 15/20 more pounds than him and are taller and have more reach. Interesting. Almost impossible.

So to be considered great he needs to beat at least 5 more former/current titlists and go up to 168 and win a title there. What does he need to do to be an all time great? He needs to go up to 175 and beat Andre Ward. I'm sorry but i'm not going to give him a pass for blatantly ducking someone who was just a few pounds above him and was calling him out. Yeah he's knocked a lot of people out but let's put the pom pom's away and be real here, a lot of his opponents have been cupcakes and journeyman, it's just the truth.
Man, you won't find "a lot" of people saying Jacobs won that fight. Most people agree GGG won, let's be fair.

That's about 11/22 so he definitely isn't an atg in my eyes but he is a great fighter who would be a threat to every past mw champion had they fought.
