He certainly seems to be on the right track, but the media-slobbering over this deal is ridiculous. TR hasn't even been on a network yet.
Not really disagreeing with anything you're saying. Arum needed a way to stay in the game so he switched up his model. I was responding to a blatantly false statement about them only wanting one specific fight and not wanting the one they actually tried to buy.

And yes, everyone wants the network to pay. It's why their all pitching their products to them.
And theirs was bought... That's their plan, what exactly is the argument here?

yes, his proof of concept made arum's deal possible, but arum is still a step behind.

espn isn't paying for these shows. meanwhile, showtime is paying haymon more than ever and CBS is paying for a huge show once a year as well. FOX will most likely be buying a bigger PBC package in 2018 as well.
Yes but ironically, Arum may be helping Haymon get a better deal with FOX. FS1 is always trying to compete with and even beat ESPN, so if ESPN makes a bold move with TR, it may force FOX's hand with the PBC..

I missed that press release and stand corrected. What are the terms of this deal and where do you find it?

Dan Rafael wrote a few stories that piece together details. He also mentioned them paying for fights and making a big push in boxing this week in the chat.

Yeah, he mentioned them buying fights and I heard as many as three although it's unclear which ones are paid for. Nothing long term.

The PBC's goal was to keep Top Rank and Golden Boy off networks like ESPN.

They're now both on ESPN's networks.

                  Thanks Al Haymon!

thank him for what exactly? he pretty much tried to kill boxing by paying boxers ****** purses to fight bums, thereby stopping them fighting in competitive fights as they didnt need to. its only because people stopped watching and the money ran out that he ended up having to put on some half decent fights.

Don't sound so naive mate, hes a bussinessman, not a philanthropist. I assure you he is doing what is most profitable for him, had PPV been more beneficial he would be doing that.
