Should boxing thank Al Haymon for free boxing?

I remember when all promoters where talking crazy about pbc and free boxing now 2 years later everyone wants to put boxing on free tv I remember GBP and top rank hating now both promoters got fights on free cable

Thank you al for the PAC vs horn fight even tho Toprank promoted the fight

You help boxing move forward and the other guys behind you will keep it going hopefully

I don't know man, I think it was headed there since hardly any of today's fighters can sell PPV's.

True, not since decades before have the top contenders been featured on basic cable and network TV. Al Haymon's deals across the board a few years ago allowed the Pacman and the Hornet to go at it on ESPN.

Yeah but those were prospects on scrub fights on late Fridays.

These are HBO-level fighters on ESPN now. And let's be frank, Arum NEVER would have done this if PBC never existed. He was more than happy to sell his fighters to HBO for top dollar until he passed into the next life. HBO slashed their budget, PBC started to take over, Arum and his son-in-law approached ESPN/ABC. It's as simple as that. Arum had no choice.

I'm more than stoked I'll get to watch Crawdaddy and Loma on ESPN now, but I'm not a Haymon basher / Arum licker that kids myself about Arum's deal with ESPN..

He Brought It Back! ABSOLUTELY! None of them was even thinking Network TV, in fact most of them was AGAINST it when Haymon started doing it. But I guess after losing money on PPV's that nobody bought Arum said to hell with it and did the ESPN Deal which I think is GREAT since Arum has a good Roster so we get to see Crawford and Loma on ESPN which is GREAT!

                No...

The reason we are getting free boxing is because people have stopped paying for it..

Ppv buys are way way down

Hbo has shrunk the boxing budget

As the demand for the product has decreased, so has the cost of viewing
