Stephen's thoughts. Arum and his judges messed up another good fight, oh well, nothing's new really here.
Boxing is dead? Yeah ok. Tell that to the 90,000 plus spectators at Joshua/Klitschko in Wembley April 29th. Tell that to the 50,000 plus who were at Pac/Horn in Brisbane last weekend.
Tell that to the millions of dumb asses who are expected to pay to see McMuffin fight Mayweather in a boxing ring on August 26th.
You have to be incredibly ignorant to make a comment like that. Boxing is having the best year in ages and couldn't be bigger worldwide. Just because America doesn't have all the champs anymore doesn't mean boxing is dead. It just means there are more American basketball and football players as well as more soft, lazy, weak Americans than ever before.
I find it amusing how whenever the rest of the world gets stronger, Americans find ways of discredited and downplaying non-US achievements. The American dream may be dead but boxing is not. Shame on you, especially with the username iloveboxing2, it's obvious that you do not.

Say what you want about Smith but dude gets you talking, do you want everyone to be boring like Max Kellerman? Stephen A Smith was a fool for how he dissed Randall Bailey and Funeka legit guys who were over the hill, but the dude is perfect for ESPN boxing instudio, he has that Casual fan perspective
Casual fan perspective? Yeah that's what dedicated boxing fans want, some amateurish, half-baked tv personality acting like an authority on the sport on a major network. There's already enough incompetent turds on tv who get paid to misinform people with their lies and blatantly uneducated opinions.
If you want to create a nation of ignorant fans who don't know the first thing about the sport and spread lies and conjecture on social media outlets online, keep listening to an amateur acting like a pro in Stephen A. Smith.
Say what you want about Max Kellerman, and I don't always agree with him, but at least he's educated on the topic and generally makes credible comments based on his knowledge of the history of the sport and his years doing commentary for a lot of major fights. What has Stephen A. Smith done to deserve a voice as a trusted boxing pundit?

But then, hey, here we are, smack dab in the midst of THE info age... yet we still have stacks of DAs everywhere who blabber on and on... yet are totally clueless. SMDH
You hit the nail on the head, Punchy! It's amazing how people think somebody is credible just because they're on tv or even less, have a youtube page or social media outlet with lots of fans/friends. People act more on predisposed bias, unsubstantiated rumors and rhetoric more than actual facts and data.
Point in case = The US presidential election.

I think Atlas was a bit annoyed with him at times as well. However, he is perfect for the casual boxing fan audience and can hopefully help some of those casuals become hardcore fans. He needs to dial back the Screamin A. personality a little bit though. With that said, I like that ESPN has a post fight boxing show with Steven A. where they talked about the fight afterwards, I wish HBO or Showtime would do the same. I have said for the longest time that they should use Mike Tyson in that role where he could have a Charles Barkley like presence for boxing. People listen when he talks and I cannot believe that no one has ever tried to take advantage of that.
I agree with most of what you said but if the casuals who get into boxing because of SAS become hardcore fans, they will then realize how full of ****e SAS is. More fans is a good thing so I guess if that does happen, it's good for the sport.

Smith is all the things you said and he is annoying, however he is right. Horn's wins were nothing of note. After watching the fight a 2nd time I was amazed how Horn landed little and Pac was nailing him with lefts and those sneaky hooks all night. When you watch it again you'll see it. You'll be surprised, I know I was. I could barely give Horn 2 rounds. Aggression with out landing clean punches means nothing. It was a clear victory for Manny to the point where a rematch is not necessary.

That fight was a travesty. One of those situations where you feel like you were scammed. People are fed up with the fix in soccer and the fight game. If I were Horn I would not want a victory like that knowing that I landed only 8 punches per round, gave headlocks, and headbutts so bad that there were 2 TWO large gashes on Pac forehead. Nothing to be proud of. It's like the bad win in Pro Wresting. I am waiting to hear some ridiculous excuse or reason that someone can justify a title win with 8 punches per round. 8 PUNCHES PER ROUND! Not to mention he never had his opponent hurt or in trouble EVER. NEVER! 8 punches per round give me a break.
