Smith's comments were clownish but Funeka was never a "world champion" as the author sez and he was 38 and at least six years beyond when he was a legit contender at lightweight when Horn fought him, while Bailey was 41 and four years removed from beating anyone with a pulse when Horn fought him. Neither are household names (Bailey much close than Funeka)and both were well past it when Horn fought them

And now Horn has just beat a well past his prime Pacquaio too. Doesn't mean the guys he's beaten are unknown bums. Pacquaio would still have beat most top welterweights last night. Stephen A Smith is an idiot.

As a pure boxing fan, i was a annoyed by Smith lack of knowledge. Sure Bailey and Funeka are not household names to the average person, but a good knowledgeable boxing journalist would still point out that Bailey has fought many big names, was a former world champ, has a rocket right hand that horn was able to absorb, and also funeka title attempts. Smith just pretty much yapped without knowing anything. Boxing is the only sport i follow so i really found that lame.

He's right I cringe all the time listening to SAS try and talk boxing. He's made his name by over the top yelling and exaggeration. But when he does it in basketball he least is informed about the sport. When you do this and clearly don't follow the of sport boxing enough you just sound like a clown.
