Boxing is a business and the team around you these days is just as important as the fighter in the ring if not more so.Kovalev has only himself to blame.
Of course, that Ward has one of the strongest teams in and out of the ring, but against any team, you don't go all by yourself. And that's exactly what Sergey did.
He had no trainer, no good promoter, no team to look after his interests... You only need to know what happened in the dressing room prior to the fight and that's a minor thing compared to all other weaknesses around him.
I hope he learnt the lesson. If not he will lose again and very soon too.
This wasn't an A side against a B side. This was A+ side against a bunch of nonsense and mess.
Not taking anything from Ward. He deserved a win in the rematch.Comment

If Kovalev thought he could make decent money by Fighting Ward - and the officials - again, I'm sure he'd do it. The guy is 34 yo though, and he's probably thinking about going after some good pay days before he retires, which rules out another fight with Ward.Comment

Well that's why you have two fists. You should have knocked his out when you had the chance in the first fight before gassing.
However, instead you carried him across the finish line by throwing him a lifeline and giving a window back into the fight like an moron. After all you are the naturally wider and stronger fighter with more punching power than him. You've said he hits like a girl don't you remember?
In the rematch you gassed yourself out too early and then started making excuses by feigning low blow injuries, turning your back and sitting on the ropes, because you were looking for a way out because by that time you were a beaten and broken fighter. Slicking a can of oil on your fans makes you both disgusting and repugnant.
In my opinion, you are still a fake mutha!
