For sure. If anything positive came out of that fight for Manny I think It Is the fact that It made him realize that he could no longer just jump In recklessly and go for the kill.

He may not be as aggressive as he once was but he Is a much smarter fighter and I believe that his style change helped to prolong his career and will allow him to fight beyond 40 If he chooses to do so.

I agree that one of them was probably going to be stopped and it was going to be the first one to land that big punch but even if pac doesn't jump in at the end of the 6th I still think marquez could have stopped him later in the fight. He put pac down in the 3rd and was setting traps for that same right hand that ended up finishing it. It was either in the 4th or 5th where marquez hits him with pretty much the same punch that koed him (I think from memory you can't see it perfectly because bayless gets his head in the way). It was a huge shot and pac took it pretty well but marquez was starting to time him with that shot coming in more than just the ko shot. You also got to remember that pac had marquez down in 2 of the 3 fights leading up to the forth including breaking his nose and having him down three times in the first round of fight 1 and he still couldn't get him out of there or win fight 1 for that matter.

Edit: Could of been early in the 6th but it was definitely after the round 3 knock down

Yeah that for sure changed him dramatically as one would expect.

Now he's a much more cautious, pick your spots sort of boxer-puncher. His aggressiveness now comes in calculated spots. Whereas before the KO he was for the most part all out aggression. He was more than willing to take sizable shots in a trade off that he'd get you even worse in an exchange.

Like many fighters I think until you actually get KO'd like that -- you don't think it can happen. I know he has been stopped before, but that was in the early stages of his career and those stoppages were obviously worlds apart from the brutal Marquez KO.
