He isn't admitting Ward is better than him, he's just saying... to advance and compete properly, he feels some changes are needed. Which makes sense... word has been out for a while in how he's had weight issues. He does have a bit of the Chad Dawson Complex though ~ not listening to his trainer ~ so he needs to get past that b.s. before he'll ever get back to the elite level again.

Maybe some Wardaholics will be grinding on my comments, which is fine if you just have to hear Kovalev say 'uncle' to make you feel better about yourselves. That's fine. I'm sure Kovalev will retire with a better career than his haters will give him credit for. We all have our favorites in the sport, no worries either way. I'm off to the pub for several double bloody Marys to ease this feking neck pain a bit. Cheers to all.

Humility and admitting that he has to improve is the mark of a true professional. Kovalev will advance and improve.

        Lmao.

Kovalev never said Ward was better than him. He just said "to be better than him" probably in a clearer matter. In my opinion he showed he was better in both fights outside of all the fouls by Ward, but that doesn't change the fact he wasn't good enough to dominate enough to beat the judges and ref too, and that doesn't change the fact he has major stamina issues.

It's also not above boxingscene to mistranslate quotes and cherry pick quotes from a longer interview to make things look a certain way. Kovalev may have mentioned the low blows in the same interview, but boxingscene may have left those comments out and reported only the quotes that made Ward's "victory" look more favorable.

This is some strange shit I'm hearing. First came the rumors that JDJ approached Ward's camp before the rematch, looking for a job. WTF? Now nearly 2 weeks after Kovalev loses to Ward, he says that HE'S considering going with Ward's trainer, so he can be better than Ward?? Time for another Soprano's GTFOH clip!

                Can't write this stuff!

That Ass whoopin cleared Sergeis head. Smart move to recognize your flaws humble your self and ask for help. Virgil Hunter could improve Sergei tremendously

It's too bad Manny passed away. Manny was a people person and a terrific trainer. He's someone Kovalev would have to respect.

But yet here is Kovalev talking a new trainer, a new weight class etc etc.

a lot of these fan boys lie like they are professional politicians.... Manny taught them well and Kovalev and his fans are just following their blueprint lol

That's when he hired steward, and so forth. Maybe Kovalev has come to the same conclusion.

maybe his comments will give the casuals/tards a reality check
