Now what Canelo is spouting off are only half truths. Yes there have been many of GGG's opponents who have elected to just stand and trade with him while on other occasions, there have been many fighters, who have elected not to like Willie Monroe, Jr. However, he effectively cut the ring off against him.

I've seen Canelo attempt to fight off the back foot before in order to set up his counter punches against Austin Trout and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. However, they were not the monster punchers GGG is. If Alvarez does that in this fight he will be implementing the wrong strategy.

You are going to have to hit Golovkin very often and frequently in order of standing any chance of defeating him because he cuts the ring off very well. You are not stopping him only landing punches in spurts.

Canelo has to be the hunter and not the hunted in this bout because if he isn't he's going to get knocked out.

There's more of a difference between Golovkin and the people Alvarez has knocked out lately. Kirkland, Khan and Liam Smith? Going 6 with a welter who's been knocked out in a round by a lightweight? Going three with a guy who's been knocked out in a round by a journeyman middleweight? Canelo's good in so many ways, but he's power is a myth.

I just can't see Alvarez losing this one.

I think it will look a bit like Brook v Golovkin but Alvarez will have the size and skill to do it better than Brook and do it for 12 rounds. (I don't know why Brook was hyped up to be some killer welter. In my opinion he is an elite level Euro but not world level and I would actually pick Khan to beat him if they fight) and he was able to touch Golovkin.

Boxing, like all sports there are levels and I think that the difference in class between Alvarez and Golovkin's past opponents will be evident in this one.

Half the people on this board are going to go nuts over this next statement but I will say it anyway and I'm not even a fan of Alvarez - If Alvarez didn't have a promoter telling him otherwise I truly believe he fights Golovkin back when he won the MW title and said Mexican's Don't **** around. It's all De la hoya and the Goldenboy matchmakers for why the fight had to marinate. I especially believe this after seeing that Goldenboy's financial health is largely dependent on the success of Alvarez. If you think back to when Goldenboy had pretty much all of the PBC fighters as well, Alvarez was demanding to fight guys like Trout and Lara who are pretty much the definition of high risk low reward and even then De la hoya didn't like the idea but they let it happen because they had other fighters to fall back on. So I guess that's another reason why I think Alvarez wins, he is NOT scared like a lot of you claim he is.

Obviously haven't been hit by him but it seems to me he kind of has that thudding power where he would feel strong but doesn't seem to have that real snap on the end to KO a guy with one punch.

That's unless poor Khan's paper mache chin gets in the way. In that case it is good night Irene.

Golovkin can easily say the same about his opponents. With that being said, I don't think either guy will get a KO in this fight.
