Worst part is we shouldn't even laugh, here we have a guy who quite clearly refused to travel then claimed injury when he should have been in NZ. Duco were right, 'their is a nasty fracture of the moral compass'. Duco obviously knew Team Fury would refuse to fight should they lose the purses, they must have informed them they had no intentions of fighting should they have lost the purses. Pathetic really, I can't grasp why Parker and his team didn't travel to the UK for the first time if they were going to concede down the line. Peculiar mentality, if they'd have shown some backbone the WBO would have stripped this clown's mandatory shot either that or Warren has some major influence with them. Obviously the latter makes sense knowing the relationship we're aware of Warren has with this crew.

It's about time these organisations are held to task and investigated thoroughly. I don't particularly hold the WBO in high esteem but that said I hold the others no higher. As far as I'm concerned their is no champ right now or the winner of Klitschko and Joshua is as close to one as we actually have to reestablishing a new lineage, Fury kept Klitschko out of the ring with his doping testing issues for a year, Klitschko should never have been removed from any rankings and Joshua although I wouldn't have called him the second best heavyweight at the time he should have been held in higher esteem than Wilder due to his record against common opposition imo.

Yeah am all for fighting abroad and I commend Parker for his willingness to take his career on the road to here, but because he is the champ he didn't have to do it, how Fury got him to come over here really baffles me. And the fact that Fury was allowed to keep his mandatory status after what he did with the fight in New Zealand shows something shady might be on.

I second all of this. While it's dirty **** from the Fury's that got the fight to the UK, it's where Parker needs to be anyway. Exposure and conditioning to rabid audiences in the UK is good preparation for a potential unification with Joshua, or a big money fight with Bellew etc.

He's done his time here in NZ, I don't particularly want to see him back here unless it's a tuneup or a farewell fight.

i agree with you. Parker will probably never have another title fight at home. His promoter doesn't have the resources or financial backing. They barely sc****d together enough for the Takam eliminator & I was shocked they won the purse bid. Duco could not secure any gov't assistance so it really was a mickey mouse promotion. Burger King being the main sponsor just sounds weak. Parker is better off fighting overseas. NZLD was good for coming up the ranks but at world level it can't compete. He is better off moving to the States or Australia & fighting overseas. He has grown out of NZLD.
