But as you don't seem to get it, allow me to point out that you don't have to punch somebody in the groin 3 times in succession for it to be a foul. Once is enough. And if you had ever been in a boxing ring yourself you would know why.
You're exactly right about the foul rules. However please note that the blows weren't called fouls as such it's up to those screaming that there were THREE low blows in a row to prove it. Secondly per weeks the fight wasn't stopped solely because of the last punch which was arguably a foul.

What I don't get is why folks keep arguing about those last 3 punches when Kovalev was already a dead man walking. He was spent and had to survive 30 seconds of a energetic Ward. Offered ZERO defense once he got in that corner.

trust you to be here crying.....

were these two body-punches low..... ?

        Q. well, then why did Kovalev attempt to fake a foul ?

        Q. how can you conveniently overlook that fact when making your assessment?

        Q. what is worse, a punch slipping low, or taking a dive ?

as I said, trust you to be here crying

          I get it

people see what they want to see

the fact that Kovalev was done, is apparently unimportant

Weeks obviously stopped that fight because..... 1) Kovalev was done and looking for a way out..... 2) that right hand doe..... 3) the unanswered punches..... 4) the fact that Sergey was defenceless

but yea, lets focus on something that happened after that, even though it had no bearing

that is literally as dumb as watching Marquez decapitate Pacquiao and then saying..... "but Pac was ahead on points doe"

The last one was indeed low, but the first two were on the beltline.

I need to go back and watch the beginning and see where exactly weeks said was considered low blows during the instructions he gave to both fighters. If it was at or below where he points to on them the that's will be a low blow
. No one should be able to argue then.

We need to go back and watch the fighters instructions to see where exactly he points to on Kovalov to be considered low. Then go back and watch the low blows.

I'm still of the opinion that Weeks denied Ward as much as he failed Kovalev a fair shake of the dice. Which is a shame as then there probably wouldn't be these threads.

I'm not mad at Ward - great competitor >Boring and dirty fighter IMO but great competitor - but I am disgusted with the refereeing and the NSAC corruption.

When it comes to Vegas it's starting to become a toss up as to whether the B side will get a fair shake of the dice - and that can't be right and That can't be good for boxing.
I wasn't even talking about if the fight was in. Russia. I'm talking if Kovalev won the fight the very same way Ward did this site would go nuts with his fans saying he made Ward quit. Not one of these people crying foul would say a word about low blows. Ward would be ridiculed for filing a protest. Just admit it. You and many others thought Ward was gonna get smashed but when he actually hurt Kovalev, the accidental low blows gave you all the ammunition you need to discredit the win.

A dead man walking .. are you kidding?

Kovalev was fine till he was hurt by 2 borderline low body punches in the 8th round, then one hard punch to the head, and that was it ... till Ward pushed him to the ropes and hit him with what looked like 3 hard low blows, only one of which was picked up by the camera definitely landing low.

Kovalev wasn't half dead, he was hurt by a foul punch and sat down on the bottom rope waiting for the ref to do something about it. Even if Weeks genuinely didn't see that Kovalev had been fouled, he should have given him a count at that point, not just waved off a fight that was evenly balanced, with the end of the round only seconds away.

Ward was dropped hard in their first fight, but the ref didn't just wave it off, he gave Ward a count and a chance to recover and get back into the fight.

Weeks didn't act on Ward's fouls and he didn't give Kovalev a count because he was doing what you biased hypocrites are always accusing UK refs of doing .. looking for an excuse to stop the fight and give the win to the home fighter.
