We will never know because Weeks did what he did.
Maybe weeks saved a defenseless fighters life. Never know.

I applaud the stoppage. Kovalev should THANK Weeks because he did what he did.

Obviously I am referring to his mentality over the course of the fight because he was tired and getting his ass beaten and not his whole life.

He was fatigued. I am sure you've heard the saying fatigue makes cowards of us all.

Pretending I am talking about his whole life to deflect is ridiculous.

Sergey Kovalev came up against a genuine ATG fighter who is given a lot of leeway when it comes to fouling. As is usually the case with these types of fighters, Sergey couldn't take it when it was given back to him. Yes Andre Ward should have had points deducted for low blows and the stoppage was a joke. However, in a round or two more the fight was going to be over in Ward's favour.

Why blame it on the ref like a coward? "I fought 2 people in the ring." You fought 1 person in the ring and he whooped you. Guy is an excuse maker, it's no wonder he's seemingly so popular among Pacquaio fans.

At his age Kovalev isn't going to change his body, he's always going to be soft in the mid section. Ward exposed that, now anyone else he fights will absolutely target him there.

he's not the first guy to lose a fight because he had poor conditioning. all the heart and determination(whether or not you believe he possesses those qualities) in the world can't make up for poor conditioning. I suspect it hit kovalev hard cuz he probably actually thought he was in better condition this time. he probably could have fought til the end same as last time, but getting badly hurt to the head and body/balls put an end to that.

Kov IMO is a bully. He usually is in control in his fights. Since rd 6 of the 1st Ward fight, he has not had that control. He has been fatigued and faced with a dude he couldn't intimidate.

This was the 1st time as a pro he was in real trouble and he didn't respond like a pro of his caliber. IMO his reaction is not that of a man that got hit in the balls but that of a man that has had the wind knocked out of him.

If you think it was low blows, obviously I can't change your mind. Saying it was low blows gives Kov and excuse and allows you to take something away from Ward if you so choose.

He talked tough before the fight. The 1st sign of trouble, he wanted out.

When controversies happen I don't blame fighters.
I blame judges, refs. Seems ****** to put it on the fighter.
What I didn't get with the rematch was that the ref just seemed to have thumbed his nose on the endless preparation of fairness.
Bearing in mind the controversies that clouded the first fight.

I really thought they would do it right this time. Fans were confident when the commissioner himself stepped up in the Rigo/Flores case.
Then bam, Weeks didn't even give a damn. He just did whatever suited him.

He gave Ward his credit. Lol...and people are still complaining. I think he's accepted that he lost but he needs that little small shade. I don't have a problem with it. He admitted defeat which is difficult enough.

both at fault. weeks shouls have given kov a chance to see if he can continue or not.

weeks stepped in as soon as ward landed and kov squatted down.
