Kovalev gives Ward his due respect.

Alright, time to make peace with the rematch outcome. It was a good fight, it was a close fight, there was a lot of controversy at the end. But in the end Ward got the W and Kovalev got the L in the books. Kovalev posted his thoughts, and that closes this chapter for me. I look forward to his next fight.

Well, it was good until the shade at the end. It wasn't Weeks fault Kov, it was your weak mental makeup.

Well what do you want, under the circumstances it was a very bad stoppage, so it does put a lot of shade on a great fight. Could have been a 5 min break, could have been counted as a knockdown. Maybe it took away completely from Ward's glory to completely knocking out Kovalev in rounds 9-12. Maybe Kovalev would have made a comeback and kept the fight close. We will never know because Weeks did what he did.

I understand that NSB has become a place that is outcome focused. That doesn't mean i as an individual will be.

The outcome was clear to anyone with common sense-Ward dominated Kov and he was looking for an excuse to stop fighting.

Just because a few of NSB's Aryan Boxing Fans can't handle the loss doesn't mean we need to pretend Kov got something taken from him other than his soul.

Weeks isn't Dr. Kevorkian-his job isn't to help Kov commit suicide.

...like you're stronger mentally. i love hearing how guys who work their way to the pinnacle of a professional sport are all of the sudden mental midgets cuz they get broken down or crack one time. Someone with a generally weak mental make up would never have made it to the highest level in anything they do.

Good that he said some good words on Ward. He's a great fighter. Respect.

I'm sure next time Weeks would give him the count and make sure he's unconscious before calling it a day...

Thats nothing new. He said that at the post-fight presser more or less.

In fairness he can't be straight up doe & say he wanted out of the fight cuz that could hurt his rep more than a L so whatever. I don't really understand fans wanting guys to be gracious in defeat or accepting of an L. Losing f#cking sucks & you should find reasons you lost that give you hope you can do better in a rematch or just in general vs whoever in the future. You don't get extra points for being a good loser.
