DQ would not make any sense. Hitting below the belt isn't an automatic DQ, and normally only leads to a DQ if it succeeds a prior point deduction for low blows.

Making it an NC wouldn't upset me much. Kovalev got his ass kicked in the 8th before any low blows landed and this would mean I'd get to see another ass whopping. If you think Kovalev's poor conditioning is suddenly going to improve in his mid 30s, you're kidding yourself.

I bet though that it will stand. Weeks' decision seemed to be more based on the context of the round, Kov's low punch output, Kov's weak body language and lack of self defense at that moment than on the effect of the last few blows which admittedly were low.
