What y'all don't seem to understand is that it was ALL those low blows throughout the course of the fight that simply took the fight out of Kovalov! Don't forget, he got in the balls at the start of the 8th as well and a few times at the beginning of the fight!
Getting hit in the balls is bad, really bad, you need time to recover from it...
Without those low blows, he would have taken that right hand much, much better...
Don't get me wrong, that right hand shaked him, no doubt, but the low blows before and after that right hand were just too much for one man to handle. And that incompetent referee should've given him a standing 8 count no matter what, even if he thought they we'rent low blows... Ward's victory is tainted, i'm not saying it's his fault but still, it's not a good look. And by the way, even if Ward was fresher at the end, he was gassed as well.

Wow, a bunch of sore losers on here.
Talk about how Kovo was tired after 2 rounds or how he has looks real regular since VADA has been testing on regular basis. He was already hurt and tired and looking to quit. Plain and simple.

Kovalev did all the trash talking before the fight and has continued doing so afterwards. In between he got turned into jelly by a right hand and bent over like a raw amateur does when he gets overwhelmed. The noise was tiresome before, now it's just embarrassing.

            NOT according to kov.....

"I don't know. I can't explain it," Kovalev said about the end of the fight. "Not every round, but I thought I was doing very good. I was better, and he was better this fight. I didn't feel like I was getting knocked down with his punches."

He said he thought Ward was hitting him below the belt but that he was OK.

"I could have continued," Kovalev said. "I didn't feel the punch. This is fighting. We are boxers. Yes, he did punch me, but he didn't hurt me. The fight should have continued."

I guess they were low blows in the 1st fight too. If Ward would have went to the body early in the 1st fight Kovo would have had trouble finishing that one as well. He has a stamina issue. If he cant get you out early or dominate you he has trouble.

This is what happened, low blows after low blows, clearly that affects a fighter. Dirty boxing, shame.

If malignaggi could've fought as good as he blabs his mouth he would have been the top WW of al tine, what is a complete jerk ... there were a lot of low blows but what I caught unusual Tony weeks is a good referee how come he missed this?

Worse , when he went for a review or replay with the NSAC agreed w/his call... how could they say there were no low blows??? the one photo being processed nationally is a legal punch, on the Beltline but there were many others low...

Was it a bad stoppage, or was Kovalev not defending himself and not throwing punches back? He was hurt, but refused to go down, like Lamotta vs Robinson in the 13th round. How much more of a beating do his sadistic fans want him to take!?

He wasn't hit low at the beginning of the 8th. Those were legal blows to the beltline. Stop lying to yourselves.
