In this case Pauline is wrong. The ref saw a hurt fighter folded over on the ropes and not defending himself. Whether he saw low blows or not he didn't stop the action to address it. If he did he couid have given Kovalev time to recover, but that's not what happened. Any boxer know if you think your being fouled you don't stop fighting and wait for the ref to say something. The way it was stopped caused unnecessary controversy but there's nothing controversial about a saving a boxer when they stop defending themselves.

I disagree with Paulie on both fights. I thought Kov won the first one but he was done this time.

I think Paulie is an idiot most of the time but when he puts his personal biases aside, he talks some sense when it comes to boxing and he is spot on here. As is anyone who has ever watched the sport and does not have racial, political and national biases.

            Absolutely true!

A guy should have to be really hurt in order to stop a championship fight.

And this took away from a proper stoppage win that Andre Ward deserved. Today we should be talking about what an epic performance he had, not about any controversy.

              Give fights their proper ending.

Exactly. The talk today should be 100% on what an epic performance Ward had. But it's mixed with praise, disputes, disagreements and controversy.

Boxing and the fans and both boxers deserved to have the fight end dispute and controversy free and the talk should be only on praising the winner, not on controversy, disputes, etc...

I had Kova up 5-2 myself like many others, particularly those outside of Zionist media.
Ward was up 5-2 easily. You probably always agree with the Lederman card and the HBO narrative Kellerman was spinning. When you are being told by Lederman how the fight is going, instead of looking at the impact of the shots, then yeah there will be others like you. It was clear if you were paying attention that Ward was landing the meaningful shots from round 3 on. Roy Jones is an actual fighter and saw what was going on in there. It was clear Max couldn't process the impact of that round 1 right hand Andre threw coupled with the effect of the left hook Andre was landing in the mid rounds. There was never a point in the fight where Kovalev imposed his will. In the clinch once, Kovalev tried to be the boss and shove Andre off. Andre barely moved and wasn't off balance, he landed a killer left hook. Kovalev never tried shoving him off in the clinch again. Kovalev didn't suddenly just get broken down. In round 7 I could see in Kovalev's body language he was in trouble. Then in the 8th Sergey got the fight beaten out of him and sat on the ropes lol wtf. you saw the condition he was in during round 7. Round 8 he got stopped. There was nothing left in the tank. He lost every round in the second half of the first fight. In the second fight the gap was so wide he didn't come anywhere near making the bell. He had nothing left. Weeks shouldn't have stopped it. He should have made Kovalev opt out. I wanted the satisfaction of seeing it. I knew it was going to happen and so do you.

Had the roles been reversed, you think "Team Black" would be on here saying that was a fair decision LOL?

I still remember when Mayweather wasn't disqualified when Roger Mayweather entered the ring...

A large group of Black people were rooting for OJ because the U.S. Justice system had failed to convict White people who hung, castrated, ****d, and murdered Black people for over 250 years. They weren't really supporting OJ, but they saw the U.S. Justice system as their enemy. If you put it in context, after the cops were set free in the Rodney King case just a few years earlier, it's totally understandable, unless you're a ****ing racist! The funny thing about you bringing up Mayweather, is that he stated publicly that he thought Ward lost the first fight vs. Kovalev. You must have been surprised by that! After all, Mayweather is part of "Team Black."

I agree with you 100%! Kovalev should've been given a standing 8, so that Ward could've gotten the proper ending to the fight, which was coming in less than 5 minutes from Kov getting folded like a cheap suit. Ward was the one who really got robbed! Now the only thing people will remember, is not how Kovalev was getting completely dominated in Round 8, but how the fight was stopped prematurely!
