All due respect bro, I've seen guys where you say "He's out, he's gonna be dead if ref don't stop the fight" then those guys come back and score a KO.

Castillo vs Corrales, Ward vs Gatti, Miura vs Vargas etc.

Look, I feel the same, I saw Kovalev and by that time he was very tired and on the downhill, but this greats fights should be stopped when thay are supposedd to be stopped.

Like I said in my other post, I give props to Ward in fact now I have him on my top 1 P4P but it's a shame a fight his caliber had to be stopped like this.

Let the dudes settle it till the end.

It was clear if you were paying attention that Ward was landing the meaningful shots from round 3 on. Roy Jones is an actual fighter and saw what was going on in there. It was clear Max couldn't process the impact of that round 1 right hand Andre threw coupled with the effect of the left hook Andre was landing in the mid rounds. There was never a point in the fight where Kovalev imposed his will. In the clinch once, Kovalev tried to be the boss and shove Andre off. Andre barely moved and wasn't off balance, he landed a killer left hook. Kovalev never tried shoving him off in the clinch again. Kovalev didn't suddenly just get broken down. In round 7 I could see in Kovalev's body language he was in trouble. Then in the 8th Sergey got the fight beaten out of him and sat on the ropes lol wtf. you saw the condition he was in during round 7. Round 8 he got stopped. There was nothing left in the tank. He lost every round in the second half of the first fight. In the second fight the gap was so wide he didn't come anywhere near making the bell. He had nothing left. Weeks shouldn't have stopped it. He should have made Kovalev opt out. I wanted the satisfaction of seeing it. I knew it was going to happen and so do you.
Yeah, Ward was hitting Kovalev at will with left hooks, right hooks, and most of the time low blows. The low blows zapped Kovalev's strength. Weeks didn't even bother to warn Ward. Of course, they are both Americans.

Terrible stoppage. Kov shouldn't be doing the refs job. Kov shouldn't have to tell the ref the blows are low.kov doiesnt have to do a BH to get refs attention!

Its the refs job to see the blows are low. We know ward was going to target body but above belt please. That's not asking too much is it?

Say what you want. If it was a dog fight, we saw who got put down. Kovalev got his ass kicked in a fight. You didn't ever expect to see that. Sit your ass down! Thats exactly what I told you would happen!

Props to Ward. Weeks stopped the fight because there is no standing 8 count...... but Kov was ahead. I hate how Ward would land two or three good shots and would be given the benefit of an entire round. Kov was almost dominating until the low blows started landing. God forbid Ward found another way to cheat Hahaha.

Paulie is a former 2-time world champion and one the best new commentators in boxing. Whose more qualified to give an opinion than him?

Open and shut case? ****, I hope you're not a lawyer, or you'd be leading people straight to the slammer.

Your open and shut case is ****ed when the opposition brings in video evidence - which clearly shows these "low blows" are shots on the beltline.

Unless Kov's nutsack sits an inch below his belly button - you're probably in a good position to confirm this.

Ward vs Stevenson for the Undisputed title

You guys should know, Ward didn't choose Kovalev, Kathy Duva invited Ward to come up in weight to fight Kovalev for the number 1 position in the pound-for-pound list. She did it to wipe-off Stevenson from the equation. But by ducking Stevenson with this plan, Karma bust the ish on their face. By using Ward name, they thought Ward would've been an easy fight to glory, but it wasn't.
Kovalev always had a weak point in that spot, Caparello knock down Kovalev on that same spot (on the belt), but it was seen as a low blow. John D Jackson gave way to much information about Kovalev weaknesses points to Ward clan, when Hunter played Jackson with the idea of recruiting him.
But about fighting Stevenson, Kovalev was playing all along and Ward carefully does everything to avoid the Stevenson subject. If he smiles in the interviews, as soon as Stevenson name comes up, the charismatic smile's gone.
He says he wants to go up to cruiseweight, but we know it's a blattant lie, just to avoid talking about the only subject which make sense; I mean making history by fighting for the Undisputed title against Adonis Stevenson. Which is the real pursuit of legacy.
Max Kellerman already gave his opinion about the logical matchup of Ward vs Stevenson.
*Quote: (Stevenson should go in the ring against Ward, Sure!)...
HBO will have the last word on who should he fought, Smith Jr, Beterbiev, Browne, Gvozdyk or Stevenson have a GO, but all other names will be rejected if they aren't sanctionned as mandatory to Ward. HBO wont waste their money with small defenses, and if Rocknation decides to knock Haymon PBC Showtime door, Ward will have to face Stevenson first. Let's not forget HBO & Showtime are now working together on major events.
Anyhow, Crawford will take that Pound-for-pound number 1 spot when he'll become Undisputed, by fighting Indongo, because HBO will decide so. Means, Andre Ward may preach as long as he wants about fighting Cleverly, by pretending how he likes UK and wants to fight there, but Mayweather X-Factor Badou Jack strategically blocked this avenue.
Once the sanctionning bodies like IBF or WBA will begin to tell him to defend his titles, Ward will have 2 choices, high risk no reward guys like Beterbiev-Gvozdyk or high risk high reward Stevenson. Will he lose his "legacy, position and reputation" by vacating few Belts, will he turn down his own chance to make history by retiring, will he suddenly push the clock by faking an injury hoping Stevenson loses in the process; or will trust faith and fight Stevenson.
Anyways, Kal-El Stevenson will become the next Undisputed LHW champion, which will have to defend all his titles against Badou Jack. A Haymon-Mayweather win win...
