I agree with Paulie completely.

A guy should have to be really hurt in order to stop a championship fight.

And this took away from a proper stoppage win that Andre Ward deserved. Today we should be talking about what an epic performance he had, not about any controversy.

Give fights their proper ending.

DAMN!!! Ward looks over at the ref. expecting him to say something about the low blows and then when he doesn't he continues on..

Has anyone seen a boxing match stopped when a guy his gettiing body blows but still standing??? I can't remember ever seeing a fight stopped with the guy still standing from body shots??? Or shots to the nuts.

KOV was looking for a way out. Weeks gave it to him. After that WARD right hand staggered KOV it was over!

and it was an instant reaction. 1 punch and kov ''appeared'' to be helpless. refs cant get inside a fights mind and know if hes ok or not.

while it was kinda quick, i cant fault him for siding on kovs safety. paulie is a drama queen.

the bold is a very important tweet. not every ''infraction'' is caught by a ref, so weeks not seeing a ''low'' blow is irrelevant. KOV HIMSELF said as much. he ''felt'' them but were of no consequence on his condition. HE FELT GOOD (i can pull the link if you need it).

imho, weeks is taking the high road.

Don't like the stoppage...if I'm in Weeks position if I don't think they are low blows, I'd give Kovalev a standing 8...if they are low then give Kovalev 5 minutes...

Wish it hadn't ended that way...Ward was most likely gonna get it definitively unless Kovalev made it to the bell...
